Trouble with electrical connector to install new paddle shifters

My Specs:
Emira I4
Installing new JQ Werks paddles but having trouble with separating the electrical connector to attach new paddles. Any insights would be useful !
 
Stick a tiny flat edge screwdriver to depress black tab (indicated by blue arrow) to disengage the retention tab (red arrow). Then just wedge out male from female connector.

Shouldn't take much effort to disconnect, if you are meeting a lot of resistance, stop and reposition.

Thanks for quick reply but I had no success, must be doing something wrong ! I attached a picture of the fitting from my 2026 Lotus Emira.
