Better comparison might be the SLR. Lots of room in front of the wheels.No, I meant the distance between the front wheel centerline and the front bumper. Bringing an engine further back (front-mid vs front) should allow you to pull the front bumper closer to the wheels.
This comparison is scaled about right (based on the Vantage having a 19" stock wheel and assuming the GR GT is on a 20") and I think it's just a design choice to make the front bumper a bit more proud. Both cars are front-mid V8s. But also, check out how further back the firewall appears to be on the Toyota! Man, that's a long hood.
The more I look at it, It's probably not a huge difference in terms of inches overall, but it sure makes the approach angle look less forgiving on the GR. For the track, no issue of course. But I love that the Emira has such a forgiving front bumper profile!
