This thread has been the most expensive bit of internet discourse for me since I bought the car.![]()
"Famous last [watch] words"...from one (now hooked) fish to another (soon to be hooked) fish. Be careful for what you "fish for" (lol).I just ordered a Christopher Ward last week, it's my first "fancy" watch. $1,600ish, and hopefully the most I'll ever spend on a watch, haha.
She has good taste !Anniversary present from my beautiful wife.
Other than me...yes!She has good taste !
Eh end the thread here. The gold Overseas is the grail to end all grailsMy collection throughout the years, each piece has its story and symbolic moments, from a pass down watch from my grandfather (Omega DeVille, first “real” watch (Longines), wedding watch (Tudor), “I’ve made it” / started a business celebration watch (Omega Speedmaster Sedna Gold), to the my favorite of all time and the most worn (Vacheron Overseas 4520V)
However, since our child was born, watch collection journey is pause for now. Maybe I’ll pick it another piece later on when there’s a significant moment that’s worth celebrating.
Cheers!!
There’s a great cover story on Miles and his cars in the February 2023 Road & Track.Anniversary present from my beautiful wife.
A Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Tribute to Concorde limited edition. Announced a few days ago and limited to 593 units in honor of the Rolls-Royce/Snecma Olympus Type 593 engines built for the Concorde. Dark blue dial mimics the view passengers would see at 60,000 ft of the Earth's curvature and the dark blue horizon of space above. I Have been a huge fan of the Concorde since I was a boy. I was also a navigation and flight control avionics technician in the Army for 6 years, so the Navitimer was always a grail watch for me.
When I discovered that Jim Clark, Graham Hill and Jackie Oliver all wore Navitimers, that sealed the deal. Seems like the perfect daily watch to go with my daily Emira! The icing on the cake is that Miles Davis also famously sported a Navitimer and was a noted car enthusiast, dailying cars that most of us can only dream of driving such as the Ferrari 275 GTB/4, the 250 GT Lusso, the Tesstarossa and a Lamborghini Miura! As an amateur jazz drummer and huge fan of his music I feel privileged to have the Navitimer join my modest collection of Seiko watches! Breitling photo my own. The other photos are courtesy of the web.

Looking at the Web, Lotus has created a couple watches: the 2006 Type 1 Lotus quartz watch limited to 2,000 pieces, with the Lotus logo on the back, plus the more recent (2025?) REC 98T/4 Timepiece, limited to 989 pieces with an automatic movement and no Lotus logo I could see. I did find one watch for sale on Etsy with the yellow Lotus logo, but I suspect that wasn't authorized. Interesting concept and I suspect Lotus would only agree for a "fee" which would increase the price of the Bel Canto. But given the popularity of the Christopher Ward brand on this thread, perhaps you'd find 25 buyers.I just noticed that Christopher Ward does "Bespoke" designs (minimum 25 pieces). I wonder if Lotus would agree to a black/green/yellow Bel Canto Classic with the official LOTUS logo in it? Anyone have connections to the Marketing department?
I reached out to their marketing team, and they weren't interested in working with us directly, but if we could get enough people together, we could go through their Bespoke design process to have our own Lotus or Emira inspired watch made.I just noticed that Christopher Ward does "Bespoke" designs (minimum 25 pieces).
