Smoked tail lights

I found what looks to be the AliExpress version but on Amazon with prime AND for around $100 (half the price of eBay and AliExpress).

Bought them and will see how they fit and look. Will post it soon!

And if anything, return will be easy through Amazon.

I have the exact ones, and they are EXTREMELY dark, it's basically black out covers. I can post some pictures.

I will not be using them personally. My original plan for getting them was to mimic the smoked clear look like euro tails on other cars, and to achieve this I paint the inside of the covers a transparent white.

However, the covers themselves, like i've said, are extremely dark, you can't even see the white behind it. Some people might be going for this look so if that's you, get these.

What I want would be covers that are MUCH more transparent and just barely smoked, I hope someone make them.

Those are pretty dark. If you can, take one off and have someone take a night shot with the brakes on so we can see the difference in output.

Yeah it looks great but safety is a concern for sure. Do you happen to have a video showing the brakes and indicators?

They also look kinda “bulgy”, like the lights are popping out now.

Definitely getting a ticket. No way you’re seeing any brake lights. They should make a light smoke version or someone has to.

I too would love to see a photo like this with the brake pedal depressed to see if you could even see the brake lights at all. These do look insanely dark.

Apologies I do not have pictures with the lights on. And also now they they are painted white on the inside it blocks even more light, so it wont be an accurate representation of how they come.

But I will say that I tested it before painting, and it was already dark. Yes you can see the light under when they are on, however, they are about 75% blocked out (25% passthrough). as you may be aware the emira's tails aren't that bright to begin with compared to some other cars.

What did painting the insides white do? Can you post a photo with the covers with your white painted inside as well?

However these are so dark you cant even see the transparent white paint at all. So virtually no difference from the outside. It just looks black like in the picture. Failed experiment I'd say.

Gotcha.. Thanks.. Maybe I need to do the Vinyl route then to get more of a smoked look..

My covers were delivered today but I’m out of town. I’ll put them on (without sticking them on) and record some videos pressing down the brakes, indicators, etc and post it here.

Ordered from Amazon so once I do that I’ll see if they are a keeper or a return.
