Apologies in advance for text wall

Hello everyone, I'm on the fence about filing a Lemon Law claim for my Emira. It is by far the best driving and fun car I've ever driven, but the dealership has almost had my car more than I have, and I've had nothing but issues since the first day.
I would really love some insight and advice from those who love the car like I do.

Here's my timeline:

Purchased in Florida(Palm Beach Lotus) in March 2025, New 2024 model, car lives in Oklahoma. Purchased with 7 miles, currently at 8140.

Noticed paint blistering, subwoofer popping, and P0111 intermittent CEL putting car in Limp Mode. Florida dealer also neglected the car and it needed to be taken to a body shop to have sections repainted.

1sr service(76 days) : Dropped car off 21 June 2025 at nearest dealer (Earth Motorcars Dallas) for aforementioned issues.
Picked up on 5 September 2025

2nd service (Still at dealer, 39 Days as of 10 Dec 2025) : Dropped car off 1 November 2025, for peeling dashboard, P0111 limp mode still happening, subwoofer popping again, license plate lights shorted out, windows calibration off(windows automatically go up after they auto roll down)

As of today, the dealer has had my car for 115 days(45% of my ownership) and counting, and I've had it for 140. There's been multiple issues, and repeated issues that I've brought to them before..

Less than 10k miles and less than 1 year of ownership.

So EmiraForum.. What's your advice?

Speak with Gio.

Are they waiting on parts?

Mine has been at EarthMotors for about %50 of my ownership too. But its at home right now. That's because it isn't being driven that much right now.

I still have the SOS issues every time I start the car. Its been fixed twice among the other issues the car has had.

If you are unhappy with the car and you can lemon it, do it. Get another one start over. As most of said to me most haven't had any issues or minor ones.

Gio is a great guy, and I've had lots of good discussions with him. Currently waiting on the dash assembly is the last update I got.

In my view though, after a certain amount of time, isn't it kind of irrelevant what we're waiting for? Especially for something as simple as shipping a part...

I don't mean to come off the wrong way, but just like your post... Super frustrated lol

I would start the process, echoing what others have said.

I purchased from the same dealer and have had zero problems with my Emira, which leads me to believe the issues may be specific to your vehicle. I would think some of the unique issues you have had would bolster you claim. For instance, yours is the first example of a dash delaminating (not to say it hasn't happened to others) - but again strong evidence.

Reach out to their service for an update. Don’t mention lemon lawing the car. Just get info of what’s going on. If they’re waiting on parts I would use your better judgment. If there are other issues causing the delay that they’re waiting on then use your judgment. Most lotus have gremlins until they’re all fixed then they are amazing and problem free. That is a side effect of the small boutique hand built car.

Earth Motor service is top notch. They’ll let you know what’s going on if you’re calm and understanding when talking with them. You’re lucky you only have to deal with service, their sales team is horrible.

I'm sorry you're going through all these issues. I'd start the lemon process because you have a complicated situation. You bought the car in a different state and if the same rules apply across the board, you will be filing a Lemon law claim with Lotus for Florida state, not your home state of Oklahoma. I also don't know the specific Lemon laws of either state.

One or two other owners have shared their lemon stories in forums that I could find. Experiences seem to be slow (consistent theme).

My car's been at the service center since August 2025 for a fuel pressure sensor related CEL - unlike you, I have not gotten my car back since then (110+ days ongoing) and I purchased my car in late January 2025 and it went into service with 2,700 miles. I started my lemon process mid-October and Lotus has since denied Lemoning it and we need to move to mediation. This could take months longer (hopefully not 1+ years). I hired lawyers to represent me and deal with the case - at least in California Lotus will have to pay lawyers fees (unless somehow my case is found to be invalid...which...would stun a lot of people. Part of me thinks Lotus's lawyers want more hours and/or hoping I'd drop the case.

I want Lotus to buy back the car. I still root for the brand but this one's not in the cards for me. If they manage to sort you out well and it's an option, you should at least be compensated money for time without your car, hassle etc. Good luck and it'd be nice to be updated on your progress but understandable if not.

I would. I did the same thing with my Focus RS, after it had spent about 60 days in the shop. In CA, I can start the process after 30. You've been more than patient enough. I got most of my money back and I bought another FoRS which I loved :) Lemon laws are very state specific, so do your research. In CA, a car is assumed to be worth $0 at 120,000 miles, and prorated as a fraction of that. Since my FoRS had 4k miles, I was refunded 116/120 = 99.6% of what I paid, including registration, sales tax, etc. The process of dealing with Ford was incredibly annoying and their customer service dept isn't friendly to lemon law procedures. I imagine lotus will be even worse due to being understaffed, and you will be dealing with their American office.

Good luck!

If the car has only had the doors repainted and not replaced that problem is going to come back I think you should lemon law the car and get a different Emira from a different dealership. If you have that law there in the states you shouldn't be afraid to use it.

If you love the car and the spec, I would probably try to work something out. Extended factory warranty for another year and 10k miles, or something similar. Once sorted, you will probably have a very reliable car. I think I would rather have my car repaired and know the exact history rather than start over with a new car and possibly new problems.

I don’t know how this stuff works, but I think I would be honest with Lotus and just plainly state what you’ve told us- you love the car, but the issues you have had make it an untenable situation. If they can make it right and offset your lost use by extending the warranty, ok. If not, your hand is forced to pursue using the lemon law. It sounds like an ultimatum, but it really isn’t. It’s just what a reasonable person would do.

Gio at Earth is awesome to deal with. I have had very good experiences with their service department.
