Rear Firewall Access Panel

You're probably going to think "just remove the bolts and find out" but I've removed things out of curiosity before that opened a can of worms.

I've got the interior apart for sound deadening, what is behind the X panel? is it just a large passthrough directly into the engine bay? Is there a service procedure that requires that access?

Access to rear of the engine and some of the belts and AC compressor (I think).

10 x M16 bolts. Torque back up to 10 Nm.

Not normal service items through the panel, but replacement of various parts need to be done through the panel. Some of it is not necessary though -- example: Replacing the left bank o2 sensor says it requires removal of this panel, but you really don't, there's tons of space.

Perfect, thanks gents. Was worried it had some sort of single use gasket on it i I opened it out of curiosity.

Everyone is exactly right, access to a series of engine parts…alternator, accessory pump, if you were to upgrade your intercooler to the Mach5 one, etc.

You would have access to the parts circled in blue (disregard red arrow)
