Hi,
Had my emira 2ish years and always park it on my drive and reverse out
Went to do that today and put into reverse gear, camera comes on display etc - raise clutch / accelerate to reverse out and the car goes forwards down the driveway (it slopes downwards )
It’s although reverse gear isn’t there and it’s stuck in neutral
Any ideas on how to sort this ?
As it’s on a downward drive each time I try to do something I end up 3” + further down the drive near the other cars and getting closer to the house -which is a little nerve racking to say the least
If it had a proper handbrake I’d hold and see what’s engaging / not engaging but with the auto handbrake stuff I can’t see this being possible

It's likely your gear linkage needs adjustment!

Can you put a wooden block or chock under the front wheels to prevent the car rolling forward whilst you attempt to engage reverse? At least then you can try safely.

With the car turned off, try engaging third gear and then put it in reverse gear. This could help "align" the internal gears and enable proper reverse gear engagement.

Good call re chocks for the front wheels — gonna have a search around the garage / shed for something suitable 👍

Go into 1st gear first.
Then it will glide into reverse. Otherwise I've found reverse doesn't always 'take'.
