Has anyone ordered parts through the Lotus site? parts.lotuscars.com

It redirects you / or tries to redirect you to your closest dealership to order parts.

Basic searches for “oil Filter” don’t always work and after email Lotus support and them giving me a part number I was able to find an oil filter. Of course, the site wants the year and model…but the site only lists up to 2023. So when I plug in the part number for the oil filter is says it doesn’t fit my Car.
With almost $20 for shipping I am not going to trust the part number is correct.

Further, when I asked Lotus is using an OEM Toyota Oil filter would void the warranty they wrote back “We cannot confirm what you are asking for. Only using Lotus parts will ensure your warranty.”

Anyway, thanks for any input on their website you can give me. I give that website a 3 out of 10. And I am being nice!

The OEM Lotus oil filter part is exactly the same as the the Toyota one (04152-Yzza1) except that it comes in a black "Genuine Lotus Parts" box.
I use these from Amazon, my orders have arrived from a Toyota dealership. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07984SMD2

Yeah, I went round and round with Lotus Company to specifically say it was approved. But the wouldn’t. My dealer also wouldn’t commit to it.

The Logo filters cost $26 for 1 too! I think they need to up their game on customer support. Seeing other posts about an oil change costing $500-$900 is just nuts. Bad enough I have to buy another oil filter wrench….seems every car I buy has a different one 😜.

Get a better filter. Brand Ranking rated the Purolator Boss the best out of a group of name brand filters.

This is the one for the Emira V6:

I'm using a Toyota OEM oil filter for my Emira V6 TOYOTA engine. I can't see Lotus successfully defending an engine warranty claim, on the basis that a non-Lotus filter was used, especially when it's the same Toyota filter, and same part number, rebranded as "Lotus". Lotus, like any other vehicle manufacturer, has the onus of proving any warranty denial is appropriate. And luckily we have the media to complain to...or the court system, if the claim is large enough.

That said, some vehicle owners won't "risk the fight/warranty denial"...so they'll kowtow to the dealer's mantra of "you HAVE to get us to do all servicing, using only OEM parts, or your warranty could be void" and make dealer's wealthy by giving them all their maintenance work. I once had a Volvo station wagon, where the dealer did the work and told me it would be covered under warranty, only to have the $400.00 warranty claim subsequently denied by the manufacturer (a long story). That was my first and last Volvo; a poor PR move on the part of Volvo.

So the dealer doing the work, may not in and of itself guarantee warranty coverage, although admittedly, it'll likely minimize a denial. Everyone has to choose his/her comfort level.

I already did my own first oil change right after break-in, and my main focus is quality and performance. This is why I went with the Eventuri intake, and the Boss Purolator oil filter. Filtering and oils are not an area you want to 'save money' on. I'm planning on keeping this car for life so I'm making the effort to put the best into it. I'm not saying the Toyota factory filter isn't good, just that you can often find better (and usually more expensive) solutions with aftermarket parts.

Anyone buy an air cabin filter yet - I haven't seen it listed anywhere yet.
You can buy the Toyota oil filter at Walmart, where I get mine.
