Long time listener, first time Lotus buyer questions....

@BoardwalkLotus

Do you know for a fact that a V6 manual transmission Emira will be available in the US for the '27MY? Or were you saying there's still time to order a '26 with an allocation?

Yes, the V6 manual is still available to order for 2027, and will gain the options of removable roof ($5,000) and tinted taillights ($600). All orders placed at this point will be 2027 cars.

What first issues did you see where fixed? When I look at this forum all year models have electronic gremlins, some paint issues etc. I just thought the 2025+ had additional features like blind spot, etc

We can speak to this a bit, the 2024s had a hardware recall for water intrusion that was remedied early/mid-2024.

2025 gained VERY minor updates. Things you might not notice unless pointed out, like mesh in the sidepod intakes.

2026 is the year that gained the ADAS suite with blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alerts, and traffic aware cruise control (that last one not available on the manual cars).

Can I ask about the remedy for the water intrusion - is that the rubber sheet that's placed under the bonnet (hood) ? Just curious as that's what we have over here... Not very impressed to be honest

Hi LotusFly!

We're Boardwalk of Redwood City CA. We'll try to answer your questions from a dealer perspective.

1. We think so! Not sure if you're open to dealer stock or sure you want to order a car, but as one of the top dealers in the USA we have one of the largest inventories of in-stock cars, and many allocations for order. We offer free enclosed delivery to your door anywhere in the USA. We also have a 5-star rating on google, and are pretty well known here in the community. Whether you choose us or not, we are happy to help.

2. Yes and no. For example, there are currently a few specials on MY2025 Emira, including $5,000 in down payment assistance for owners of competitive vehicles ($6,000 for current Lotus owners) and there is a lease special at $1099/mo + tax for 36 months with $11,099 due at signing (offers cannot be combined) - also these offers are scheduled to expire EOD tomorrow, it's unclear if they will be extended last-minute. That's a Lotus program you'll find at all dealers. However, we are currently MATCHING that incentive, and that's something that we're doing as an individual dealership. Dealers can set their own rates on services such as PPF. You want to use one that's Lotus-approved, since the Emira paint can be sensitive. Our Lotus-approved PPF has a 10-year warranty.

3. If you were to place an order today, production would be estimated around September/October with delivery around November/December. These are just estimates, things can always change.

4. 2027 does bring some changes, including the new 420 Sport model, a removable roof panel option ($5,000 option), and a few other new options like tinted LED Taillights ($600 option). Colors will be the same, except for Tangelo Orange which will be exclusive to the 420 Sport (although we currently have a rare Tangelo V6 in stock right now). We think it unlikely options will change further this year, but anything is possible.

5. This one is for the community!

Happy to answer any additional questions you have about the car, order process, pricing, timing, etc.
My folks are still in the South Bay, I actually saw you guys in the early 2000's when the Elise came out, an ex and I were there to pick up her her GTI then later an R32 (Your internet sales peeps gave us fantastic prices). I do get down there a bunch, I travel a lot for work so maybe in the next few weeks to a month or so I can drop in.

A question.... As someone else posted, are the MT Emira's going away?? I've read this now a few times but it seems a bit unclear, just suspicion of emissions standards across Europe?! Also, I do notice some colors are limited run models, they seem to pop up without much notice, the British Racing Green color with a 50 model run etc.....are these just sort of dropped in, not orderable, pre-spec'ed models dealership get? You can PM with the info if you prefer.

Thank you for posting!

I was the one who posted (based upon a common rumor sometimes attributed to Lotus) that the manual V6 would be going away after '26. However in post #21 above @BoardwalkLotus said that it was still available to order, and all orders at this point would be 27MY.

It could the case that whether it is or isn't is in a state of flux. In the current state of uncertainty about the direction of Lotus and how Geely feels about their financial performance, I wouldn't risk it if I really wanted a manual V6.

We’d love to show you around an Emira next time you’re in the area! I’ll send a DM and introduce our showroom team. It can get busy on some days so if we coordinate a day and time they can make sure they’re available for you when you arrive.

About the manual, here’s what we know: The V6 Manual is available on our order books as a 2027 model, with new options like the removable roof and tinted taillights. Lotus came out and said they will produce a twin turbo V6 hybrid next year, but they did not say anything about how long the manual would be around. There has been no news, implied or otherwise, about the V6 manual going away just yet. That’s the full extent of knowledge we have at this moment!

There were a couple of colors that got caught up in the whole tariff shuffle. Racing Green and Tangelo Orange were limited-run 2025 colors, but then when tariffs hit there was a pause in deliveries and some arrived as 2026 models. So it was a limited edition made even more limited by the tariff disruption. Tangelo has now been re-introduced as a color exclusive to 420 Sport, but we still have one of those (now very rare) V6 tangelos, and we also have an equally rare Racing Green V6 Manual in our inventory right now. Both cars are MY2026. We’re not able to order more Racing Green at this point, what’s on the ground is all there is.

When there is a special edition color, we always order as many as they’ll let us! That’s why we have the Racing Green and Tangelo currently, these are cars we spec’d and ordered for our inventory.
