Limited Telematics

Great! Notice any other changes?

Brain, thanks for the update. I have scheduled a visit to the Lotus service department on 4/17 as I have the same issue.

Have had the telematics error. Took to dealer for the software fix. Issue hasn't returned in a few months.

@robrmon @bshads was this done on the same day you dropped off or did they have to keep the car for the telematics error fix? I ask, because @brainf18 dealer, it apparently took several hours which I assume means they kept the car for at least a couple of days. If you can all chime in, that would be great.

my dealer kept the car for several days to ensure the reprogramming fixed the issue

Appreciate it guys. Sounds like it can be done in 1 day, but they keep it overnight to fire up and ensure it's gone? If so, I may just ask to take it same day. Normally, I wouldn't care, but unfortunately there's only 1 dealer in the greater LA area and it's a hike for me.

I recently had a TEM update (only update performed) from the dealer and my Limited Telematics warning has gone away. I have been getting that warning every morning if the car sits overnight. 2 Days overnight and I haven't gotten that warning again.

I too had the TEM update in May (they also replaced the car battery saying it's part of the issue), but the error still shows up the morning after. It will go away after a few cycles during the day when driving. Back to the dealer again.. eventually

For those asking the question, there are two telemetric ariels in the car, one on the rear-left "C" pillar and one on the rear-right "C" pillar. Please excuse the photos, I went digging through my old pictures and below is the best I have:

I disconnected mine during an Audio install and it brought the Telemetrics fault up on the dash, but after plugging them back in the fault disappeared.
I'm going to suggest the faults some are experiencing is software related. There are so many updates for these cars, please revisit your dealer and request the updates.

Keeping the car on a trickle charger (if not in use for weeks) will help keep away some pesky faults brought on by low voltage, but if you're using the car daily this is not required. I found many of the cars electrical systems remain "Live" even once the ignition is switched off, most modern cars "go to sleep" after 15 mins or so, but not the Emira, ok, the main screen and dash sleeps + the cigarette lighter socket after 10mins. Also, it does not matter if you lock the car or leave it unlocked, the power drain is the same.
