Hey guys, I have a 2024 Seneca Blue Emira. First thing to say is I love the Emira. Beautiful and fun to drive.
But, I've had the worst luck with the car. It's been in service 63 days in the first year of ownership for warranty claims. Tensioner belt, exhaust valve issues, leaking power steering pump, limp mode from various sensors, vibrating body panels from music, jammed door handles, etc..
My state's local lemon law statute says if I have over 30 days of cumulative warranty work I qualify for either:
- A replacement vehicle of equal or greater value
- A buyback
Seems often times cash settlements are involved and I'd keep my original vehicle.
I've sent a demand letter to Lotus as of today.
I love the car, and I don't know what I would replace it with if I were to get a buyback. That option seems like the biggest loss.
So I am leaning either a new replacement, or a substantial settlement. It seems replacement would be the most preferred route considering the car now has 18,000 miles and a hefty service history.
What do others think?
Have other people had better luck? 63 days in service is pretty brutal no matter how much you love the car.
Just here for discussion. Not particularly set one way or another. Curious to see what others have to say.
