June Delivery Calls

Lotus CS rang today regarding delivery and photos.
First, home delivery will be done by a lotus specialist who will do the car hand over. The car will be PDI'ed etc before it arrives. Any (minor) issue with the car at delivery time will be photographed by the Lotus chap. So it's important do do a good check of the paint work etc.
The car will be delivered covered if possible ... I think it's very likely it will be.

A bit of the same old. They WILL be releasing photos and video 'in the near future' CS dont have any actual date. The car production is not quite at the stage for customer cars and i believe they are waiting for this final sign off before doing any media.

One problem for home delivery is inspecting the car out in the open if its raining.

Just sounds like hassle to me home delivery. You need to pick up at dealer purely for this reason to check it over, get anything wrong documented and subsequently sorted

The car will be delivered covered if possible...... the car shold be delivered covered !!!!! covered no question, if they doing all the checks at Lotus, PDI, paint work..... I understand the cars will not have protective covers....as you see on Porsche etc.... ?

Just had the call about delivery and the option for factory collection. I asked if the factory was offering PPF as this could influence my decision. I was told that the current information they had was no factory PPF but they would check and get back to me.

Had my call today.
Opted for delivery to my chosen PPF place.
This goes down as home delivery.

I was told I still have to be there to sign the docs and accept the car so I will give it a once over along with the PPF chaps who will have better experience than me to check it over. Especially as I will be all excited and giggling like a baby with a new toy.

Got my call today also.
I asked the question if I picked up the car from Hethel would I save the ridiculous 1045 delivery fee,to which I knew the answer and was just being facetious.

Clearly the answer was no,so I asked them to go to the expense of delivering it.

The price of fuel to the Midlands should just about cover it...

Just had my call re June delivery / collection.

Lady told me that information from head office is they are definitely looking into factory applied PPF as they have had so many requests for it, so I told her I would definitely be interested in picking it up from Hethel if they can do PPF (don't really want any other option when I only live 3.9 miles door to door), also works pefectly as doing part-ex directly with them as well so makes it easier to drop off the TTS.

I had a similar response about PPF when I enquired about it in the context of a Hethel collection. “We are developing plans around PPF, and once all has been confirmed, we will be releasing further information to advise accordingly.”
I am hoping might offer something more competitively priced than the PPF supplier my dealer recommends and will arrange. While highly rated, they are quoting nearly 3K for front and sills.

Yes, but it's too far for me. I'll get it delivered to the house. I can't see any reason for it to go to the dealer.
