Looks like they can unlock it now too instead of only bflash. I think with the recent events involving recent generation BMW Bosch ecus being unlocked by several vendors involved some sort of leaking of Bosch keys so now you will most likely see more and more companies saying they can unlock these mg1 Bosch ecus.

Just more vendors that can unlock the ecu which means competition which usually means lower prices. Hopefully it will eventually develops into a customer can unlock and flash maps on their ecu from home without having to take out their ecu to send it in for unlock

I have also been looking into this and contacted AutoTuner directly to clarify a few technical points that might be useful to the discussion.

The MG1CP002 used in the Emira 2.0 follows the same security structure as the later Mercedes MG1 units, so the remote unlock method aligns with what we have seen on other posts. No physical opening of the ECU is required(bFlash opens the ECU), and once the unlock is performed, the unit becomes fully readable and writeable through the usual bench or OBD procedures supported by AutoTuner.

Regarding dealer updates, AutoTuner confirmed that if the car receives a software update at a Lotus dealership, the ECU does not revert to a locked state. Only the calibration is overwritten, not the security status, so the unlock remains intact after any official update.

Based on recent developments in the industry and the evident shift following the unlocking of newer Mercedes MG1 Bosch ECUs, it is expected that other major tuning tool manufacturers (CMD, MagicMotorsport and others) will follow the same approach and release their own unlock solutions for the Emira’s MG1CP002 in the near future. This typically happens relatively quickly once one company publishes a working method.

In short, the AutoTuner solution is confirmed, remains effective even after dealership flashes, and more tools are likely to support this ECU soon.

Do you know if AT is able to unlock the CPC? I think Ryan's team is stuck.

Thank you so much for keeping us abreast with these developments. And thank you also to all other contributors to this subject. I believe most readers were aware that eventually, switched on individuals would put some common sense into place and provide what Lotus should have provided from day one, namely an engine free from constraints and able to perform as it was originally designed.
Thank you to those switched on ‘cookies’. Please keep us posted as to how the ‘upgrade’ can be obtained, particularly remotely if possible.
For any associated tuning companies, your potential customer base is just about to take off.

CPCs (generally) aren't "unlockable". They are OTP (one time programming) and if you want to tune one you buy a new CPC and tune it 1 time

Yes I do know that. What I am trying to say is being able to program a new CPC.
