What are people using to attach keys? I can't get any rings to work. How could Lotus screw up a key fob this bad?

Thanks, I opened up the key fob and put the loop through it.

Can anyone report if the leather covers over time wear the buttons? It seems the inside portion that contacts the button is pretty firm, I worry about it getting scuffed up over time.

Just checked mine. No wear after 7,000 miles.
The buttons don't look like they would either, very glossy.
I think they would get more scratched without the cover.
For me these cases are not just for protecting the fob from scratches they are for keeping from breaking if you drop them, as they are expensive to replace.
After that a colour matched fob is good too.

I don't understand why people let their key fob get so scratched up and shabby attached to a bunch of keys on a key ring. I got myself one of these from Ali express (different options available) and the quality is fantastic. Keeps my key fob like brand new! I only paid £2.50 for mine inc delivery, but they seem to have gone up to £7.30 now. Matches tan leather interior too. OK spoiler alert....its from china and not real leather, but still v good quality for the money!

I don't know what the problem is with the fob, mine came with a looped string bit, with a ring on the end, so you can put your split type rings on there.
Some farday bags (which I'm sure you've all got) also have a built in chain inside as well.

I ordered the black leather w/red stitching version of that from BanC and have had it on my spare Fob for well over 18 months inside my home safe. Coincidentally, my Emira also has the tan interior, but I thought Black would show less wear over time. Regardless, I simply do not like how much more bulky, particularly wider, those cases make the Fob because of the protruded surrounding lip. Imo, the Emira's Fob is already far too large to carry around and to retrieve from my trouser pockets, so I opted for a cover (pictured below) which also protects the Fob while minimally increasing its external dimensions. Admittedly, it is not the most glamorous of covers, but it is effective in protecting the Fob and it's also fairly inexpensive. Just another option.

I've got both the plastic cover (in red) and the leather one as well. I also prefer the plastic one. Both make the key even more bulky but the leather one moreso and it probably won't last as long.

Anyone looking into the plastic cover, the metal colored part is just painted. The entire cover is a thin plastic shell. Not particularly high quality, which is unfortunate considering how nice the key fob itself is. But for less than $10, can't compain really.
