I wanted to clarify something that Ive been hearing repeatedly on the forum…that the 718 GT4 has long gear ratios.

EVERY gear except 1st and 6th is longer on the Evora (and presumably the Emira) than the GT4. The only reason you reach a higher speed before shifting on the GT4 is because it has an 8,000 RPM redline.
Side note: The long gearing is likely why many are saying the Emira feels underpowered

See my nerdy spreadsheet below comparing the two.
Note: Lower numbers mean longer gear ratios

I’ve also attached a comparison between the GT4 and the GT3. The GT3 can have shorter gearing because it redlines at 9k. As a result it pushes significantly more wheel torque to the road which makes it feel much faster than the 339 ft-lbs of torque the engine produces.

Note, the top speed at each gear will drop for the Emira when compared to the Evora due to the 6,800 RPM redline.

If anyone knows the actual gear ratios for the Emira please forward that info!

Not sure if you accounted for the two final drives in the EA60 gearbox in your attachments.

The EA60 has a final drive gear ratio for gears 1-4 and an entirely different final drive gear ratio for 5th and 6th.

I can contribute that Emira will do slightly more than 160kph in third gear and 208kph in fourth gear. If gearing is the same as Evora's then it probably revs a little higher than the proclaimed 6800rpm. It's more like 7050rpm then... :sneaky:
