you can get through that in a day! LoL. I remember a good friend of mine driving his Nismo Z 900 miles in one day just to do that hahaha
Sadly, I live in Dallas where there is nowhere worthwhile to drive lol

We will get the ECUs, cloning, do the whole service for you and make it easy + warranty it.
I'd see this as a win for everyone. Since I know that shipping to and from china is actually very difficult. We have a few companies we work with in China and shipping stuff into china can be a big hassle.
I'm sure you'll find a lot of interest in this approach. For myself I would prefer two ECMs and swap when I bring into Lotus for service.

QQ should I buy an older M139 ECM >2022 , or should I wait until someone documents the exact part numbers that are compatible with the 2024 M139 Lotus variant? thanks

well we wouldn't need to keep the original ECU, so you'd have 2.

Can you elaborate on the bench unlock process please - does it work like FEMTO for BMW if we're not local as in I send you an ECU, you unlock and ship it back, then a local tuner can tune ? Thanks
 
I have done much digging and this can be done in Europe too.
MB M139 ECUs can be unlocked provided the code is MRG1 or MRG2.
Companies like bFlash can do it - see details here https://bflash.eu/store/ecu-unlock/unlock-mercedes-m139 - explicates serials that can’t be unlocked (MRG3 onwards)

The downside is the total cost is as follows:
Buy salvage ECU around £450
Send ECU to BFlash to be unlocked £380
Get your ECU cloned to the unlocked MRG1/2 ~ £100
Get the car properly tuned eg £500-600 (needs to be a bFlash tuned if they’ve unlocked).
Power will still be limited by TCU limits - ceiling seems be be about 460hp on AMG cars - TCU mods needed for more (not yet developed for Emira)
So total cost around £1500 - more than double JB4 - yes for a bit more power but a lot more faff.
Also remains unclear if the mid engined architecture can take that much power when pushed hard without overheating issues etc.
 
making the comparison to JB4 is just....pointless.

A ECU tune can control everything, way much more than a JB4. Rev limits, soft limits, torque limits, ignition timing, fuel maps, etc etc list goes on and on.

And on top of that we know a dev who knows how to enable native flex fuel on merc ecus. Mercedes built the code in and just shut it off.
