Hi,

I took delivery of a used Emira this past Saturday and have loved the driving experience of it! Unfortunately, the AZ heat is starting to really ramp up this week and I have noticed that my AC does not blow very cold air but only from the driver side vents. The passenger vents blow much colder air (probably a 10-15 degree difference). This has made driving the car when the sun is out miserable with lots of sweating involved while my girlfriend is nice and cool or even too cold and turning her vents off. I usually throw on the max AC option when I get in because at least I am getting some air even if it is warm. After 45ish minutes, the passenger side vents allow the cabin to cool enough but I am dying until then which has lead to me avoiding driving my brand new car.

Has anyone else experienced this? I saw other AC related threads but most of them refer to a dead AC as opposed to my unique issue of only the passenger vents being cold. It also confuses me as to how my passenger side can be cold but not the driver side given there's no split AC option (that I can find) thus I would imagine its all the same AC?

I am new to the car so its quite possible that its a layer 8 (user) issue here so I welcome any advice!

Thanks everyone!

Is the volume of air coming out of each side the same and its just a different temperature?
If different volume, then maybe a blockage ?
If same volume, then not a clue

Thanks for the response. I would say within margin of error, the volume of air coming out both sides is the same, purely a temperature difference.

In case anyone runs into a similar issue, one of the gaskets fell off. Service was able to fix it pretty quickly and now it’s a night and day difference!

I live in San Francisco, never hot. Today we took a road trip south...NO A/C !!!! Turned all the way to LOW and fan speed to HIGH. All we got was tepid air. Tried to change from fresh to recirc, made no difference.

This is an update. Since posting, I have driven the car and repeatedly turned the AC on and off and it began working. I read in the owners manual that it recommends running the AC at least once per week. I have been doing this and the AC has been working fine ever since.

My Turbo just came back from the dealer replacing the whole AC unit for a faulty temperature sensor. When the temperature sensor is not working probably you will have a very cold AC until the the inner tube got frozen and no more cold air could come out hence the cabin getting very hot. There are at least 5 cars in the shop for similar AC problem, be it the sensor or one of the passage divider is broken. I have to wait for the part from Hethel for two weeks but so far it seems it is fixed.
