Spent part of the morning at a dealership for some hands-on research and a test drive (V6 manual only). Quick take-aways, most of you likely already know. Essentially only 2026 models locally, and most already delivered; 2027's are 6-8 months away. No 2025's around.
Very impressed with ease of driving experience. pedals and shifter took no time to get the feel. Steering quite firm in sport; almost heavy, but decent feedback (front tire pressure was low on both sides). Did not push it, but not as instant or urgent at higher rpm as I figured it might be. Quickly comfortable to get used to. Not too snug for a few hours in the seat. A bit spartan, limited knobs and buttons, but certainly adequate and as expected. Ding-dong speed warnings somewhat annoying (but, yes, can be turned off and not a deal-breaker for me). Front clearance height much more generous than it looks, for passing over curb ramps.
Alcantara wheel is yuck. Extremely hard to do shoulder checks when changing lanes; really have to rely on sideview mirrors (window decal in my face didn't help). No time for any detail on dash options or screen menu, etc. Just needed to see if it ticked the major boxes.
Getting in and out was super easy, without awkward circus-performer maneuvers - gotta watch for the extended carbon fiber side skirts on the Scura edition however! My wife fell in love with that trim level right away.
Misc notes on colors 'in person' vs photos - verdant green is ten times darker than it appears in photos. I thought it was a black or dark grey car, even in daylight. it takes bright, direct sunlight to see the green.
Satin nebulous grey is a color I'd expected to dislike - I love it. the Scura trim (with or without carbon fiber) looks really good; photos of it look horribly blah and flat and uninspiring.
No Seneca blue around - popular color seems to get snapped up quickly (and purple too). Hethel Yellow and Zinc Grey seem to be slightly less desired (most predominant on lot).
