Both keys locked inside Emira!

I have so many devices that run on the same battery type, I just buy 6 at a time and replace them all yearly
For the sake of a few quid, its just safer.

Same. I log the date I change them and then 12 months later, I replace them

I used to be a supervisor for a state agency that had many cars. One day an employee came in and took several of the keys from the key locker. I asked him what he was doing. He replied that he had locked the keys in one of the cars and couldn't find the spare. He said that one of the keys from the other cars would work. I followed him out and after trying a few keys, one of them did work. This was pre key fob so I doubt the electronics in today's fobs would translate from one vehicle to another, but the cut key might open another door.

I had this happen to me once.

I had a Blue 93 Escort hatch. I walked out to ‘my’ car, put the key in and unlocked it. When I tried to sit in the car in the car I realized the seat was in the slightly wrong position. Looking around I realized it was in fact NOT my car. But another car of the exact same color as mine. Apparently both of us were just as fastidious because like mine the interior was clean and completely free of clutter.

The only clue was very small details. Position of the mirrors and seats. Plus there was a small cross in the center console.

I got out and had to go look at the plates just to be sure. They definitely weren’t my plates.

I locked the car and walked one isle parking isle over and there was MY car in basically the same relative spot.

Has this happened to anyone? Modern cars are not supposed to lock automatically when keys are inside the car, whether on or off. I had both sets of keys in my 2024 1st edition V6 bc I was bringing it in for service and the car was off and locked itself with both keys inside!

I read this thread and did not see how you unlocked the car. What did you end up doing?
