When are we going to get actual production details about the base spec editions?

Are the seats going to be same as the FE , albeit with a different base without all the motors?

That was my original plan but now I’ll wait to drive it. The six test drive really felt perfect. My sons would also prefer the manual :)
Well you shouldn’t even wait then, all AMG units have an open differential. I assume you wanted a limited slip differential by your statement.

Yup was unaware of that. Thx! Still gonna drive it. Im Comparing the Emira to all the performance options found on a 718T or a Z51 c8.
saw a Smurf c8 again yesterday driving and they look SMALL under way. Not in a hurry but I’m 60% lotus 20 c8 20 718

The lack of an LSD for the 8G DCT transmission is a conundrum. Even with "only" 360HP/400HP, single-side wheel spin is going to cause issues. I wonder how they are solving that problem.

Edit: The previous generation M133/7G-DCT engine/transmission combo could be built with a LSD. The option code number is "471". Maybe that differential could be adapted for use in the 8G-DCT? I would hope so.

It's coming with an e-diff right?

Lots of cars use ABS modulated E-diff,… my wife’s VW GOLF GTE has it on the FWD. it’s fairly intuitive on the road and tidied up turn-ins predictably. Not so good for track I suppose, if you want to carry speed through a corner.

Yes, brakes, wheel sensors, and yaw sensors limit slip for you up until a point — where the brakes can no longer control the driven wheel’s power. That being said the mechanical torsen inside the v6 manual gearbox isn’t perfect either.

Side note: I don’t like the eDiff and eLSD terminology since it’s often confused with electronically controlled differentials. I like Jeep’s nomenclature for it: Brake Locking Differential. Market it as an eDiff or eLSD and everyone thinks they don’t have an open diff.

One thing is for sure. Lotus will not be releasing the i4 until ALL of the foibles with the V6 are sorted.
They should then consider making it the epically perfect car we all hoped the V6 to be.
For that reason, the i4 may well the one to get.

The majority of V6 FE issues will probably be resolved by mid 2023. Much of that will carry over, such as panel alignment, paint finish, seatbelts etc.

There will be i4-specific issues, so don’t expect it to be perfect out of the gate. Different engine, transmission, ECU, wiring loom etc.
