So I am trying to fit some tweeters to my Emira (and possibly a feed off the door speakers too) - as the grill at the front does not actually have any (I presume those reading this part of the forum will be aware of this). I followed various threads and got the idea that for the passenger side.... the following was true:

Updated Speaker Wiring:
Driver Side Speaker
(+) Purple/Brown
(-) Blue/Yellow
Driver Side Tweeter
(+) Purple
(-) Yellow

Passenger Side Speaker
(+) Purple/White
(-) Blue
Passenger Side Tweeter
(+) Purple/Green
(-) Yellow

BUT.

I am in the UK. So I presumed it would be the same only opposite (if you get my gist) - ie the driver side would be swapped around with the passenger side (seeing as we're RHD over here).

But.

Have a look at the wires I have exposed on MY drivers side (ie the right hand side of the car) - there is no purple white or solid blue - it seems all completely different.

See picture.

From what I can see there are:

three purple greens,
three purple white
Solid red (thick)
Solid black (thick)
Yellow green
Yellow white
Solid brown
Blue grey

Does anybody know the wiring for the UK cars?

Or any other thoughts?

Otherwise I guess I'll try try and error and see which combinations sound about right.

Thanks in advance......

James.

I strongly recommend that you continue discussing this in that existing tweeter thread since all of the information is there already. Not sure where you are getting these color codes but this is the authoritative information on wiring color codes as of today, as provided by @silent cilantro. The man is a saint for doing the work to help establish some basic fundamental facts in a topic that is in dire need of it:

Thanks I'll take a look though I have been through that thread and all the wiring seems to be US models. But thanks I will look again.
