Anyone mastered heel and toe in the emira?

I think "heel and toe" is just an old expression for heel planted in front of the throttle pedal and top of foot rotated to brake pedal. The vast majority use ball of foot near big toe on brake and the other side of the same foot of blipping the throttle.

Driving shoes with a grippy and very narrow sole without all the padding make it much easier. It is very difficult, if not nearly impossible with some shoes.
No, some do actually use the heel to actuate the throttle

None of the cars I’ve owned made it really possible. Rolling the ankle has always been easier. Maybe it’s a function of the size of my feet, the shoes, and the pedalbox.

But have seen vids of racers using true heel toe

In any case how you do it really doesn’t matter so long as it works

There was a whole thread on driving shoes a few months back

Cover just about every option out there.

Hey

I find it pretty hard to heel/toe in the emira due to the very narrow pedal position and the throttle pedal being relatively short. Do you guys have any tips on how to do it properly?

In difference to the technique shown in the lower pic, do any of you guys find it easier to apply the throttle with the right part of the foot/toes as well (simultaneously to braking/foot on brake pedal) like shown in this video, at the very beginning (5sec into the video):

Thanks

I do it all the time whether I like to or not.

Echoing what others have said, a pair of driving shoes make a huge difference. For street driving (light brake use) I use the 1st metatarsal to brake and blip the throttle with the right side of my foot while keeping my heel rested on the floor. For track driving, I actually heel toe.

No heel - but rather the sides of the right foot. What this means is that the right foot is partially on the pedals - to the very right of the brake pedal (bigh toe) and to the left of the accelerator pedal (little toe). Foosh above describes it.

I can do it with flip flops.

I don't find it too bad on the street with good driving shoes, I use the heal on the gas. Because of the seats I found it difficult on track to hold myself in place, and heal toe correctly. I now run a blip module for on the track, it is so much easier on the clutch and transmission, and helps with the track times. I leave the module turned off while on the street.

Here you go! Pedal Cam starts around the 33:00 mark. This was my first time running a pedal cam. I'm looking forward to doing it some more. It's pretty insightful in showing you what you are getting wrong/right.

It can vary depending on speed and what mode you’re in.
The most natural car I found “to heel toe” in was my 2006 Porsche 911 S.
