Any body do full PPF on their car?

Just curious what part of the country you are located in and what was the price you paid if you don’t mind sharing? Even though I haven’t even taken delivery of my Emira yet, I’m getting a few estimates for when it arrives. My independent installer who does a lot of high end cars and did my Maserati GT quoted me $5800 for the full car using Xpel ultimate. If I do the windshield which I will, that’s another $500. The dealership has quoted me $6500 for the full car supposedly using someone that Lotus actually employs, not a third party or independent contractor if you will. They don’t do windshields but will try and sell some replacement plan.
It’s definitely a lot! But, what are ya gonna do. I’m spending an awful lot on this brand new car, believe I should do what I can to protect it, and this seems to be the best way especially factoring in what a respray might do the the value, plus the ability to keep it clean and nice looking with perhaps a lot less efforts. I’ll probably have the dealer do the PPF in case there’s any kind of issue with paint bubbling or otherwise, then have my other guy do the ceramic.
I did get the paint bubbling on the doors. Lotus covered it under warranty AND paid for the PPF and its installation to the same exact spec.
If that is the ONLY bubbling I ever get then I am very happy.

I am located in north Houston region. I tried local dealer that specializes in SunTek. Out the door for me was $6599. That was inclusive of full body PPF, all windows tinted and front window protection film. My previous vehicles were all done by Xpel corporate dealer and price was very similar (+$500).
Good to know Lotus did step up to pay for the PPF as well. That’s my main reason for having the dealer do the install, just in case insurance so to speak.
I got full PPF, but that was just because I used color PPF to get the color I wanted. It cost $7000, but color PPF should be more expensive because the installer needs to be more vigilant about stretching, overheating, seam lines, and covering 100% (e.g., the normal Emira cut template around the side vents wouldn't work for color PPF since there's a big gap).
Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend full PPF. I don't think it makes sense to pay 5-10% of the car purchase price to protect from damage that wouldn't nearly cause that much value loss, especially when just a front area or partial PPF of priority areas costs a fraction of that and covers at least 90% of relevant damage. And PPF has little to no addition to resale value, and realistically most vehicles like the Emira get resold within 2 years it seems.

It's worth you knowing that Lotus told me they were now no longer paying for replacing the PPF and refused to pay for it when I had a door replaced.

Well that’s very interesting to know. I’ll have to ask my dealer specifically what their policy or stance will be should that happen.

I’ve also heard this although I’ve also heard that if you kick up enough of a stink (English term) they can back down and agree to paying for the PPF.

Almost certainly true as I believe the car has to be restored to "pre-fault condition" after warranty repairs under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
I didn't bother making the fuss as I wanted all the PPF removed from my car (apart from the front) anyway, as I didn't like it - all the dirt caught by the edges of the PPF looked awful. In the end it was a very good job I had the PPF removed as it uncovered a load more issues with all the other the Teijin panels - see my previous post.

I had it done in North Houston at XPEL. They are the best! Ive done 5-6 cars with them. It was around $6500. So worth it!
I got mine with full ppf but wasn't too happy with the final product. The first tech didn't tuck them well so I brought it back in and the owner fixed it up. Paint was lifted off when they were doing one of the side black plastic engine vents so they replaced that piece. Some of the lines I wish they were able to better hide them instead of being in the middle of the rear panels due to curvatures. Once the weather is nicer, I'm going to go to another shop who did another emira and see what they can do. Of the few emiras I've seen in Maryland, they only did the front.
Other news, it does protect from small rocks. Shop already replaced lower front due to a rock.

I just bought mine a couple of weeks ago and did full ppf even recognizing that what you say if correct. I fully covered an f type previously that ended up written off after an accident only 4 years old, no insurance recognition file the ppf but, when I had that car, knowing it was protected made me a lot happier driving it and that was worth something. On the other hand I only did the front of my wife's TT and it was the back that got scratched up.
And, as it happens, the ppf saved my new Emira's right rear panel paint yesterday when a bicycle went into it
, the ppf is damaged but the paint is good. I also hope to have this car for a very long time.
