Any body do full PPF on their car?

I've done full body PPF and I don't regret it. I also chose a matte PPF just to make my Hethel Yellow look more unique.

I've only had one small rock chip that went through the PPF and damaged the paint.

I don't plan to sell my car and did full PPF right from the dealer before taking delivery.
The dealer outsourced the PPF installation to a installer who did 50+ Emira prior to mine so they knew what they were doing and I got a really good price (5800Cad+taxes so about 7153Usd total).

The shop did a mix of pre-cut and custom since they wanted to reduce the number of PPF ridge.

Not less than a week after taking delivery I got a hit by a pretty big rock following a 18-wheelers on the front lower bumper area. The PPF took the hit and even teared a little bit but left the paint unscarred so without it I would have to change/repaint my front bumper. I pretty happy about that purchase and highly recommend front PPF at minimum!

I did not do front windshield PPF and kinda regret it (got a really small chip already and would appreciate some UV reduction/protection).

I have full PPF on both of my cars and the most important thing is the peace of mind. The PPFs don't last forever and probably are not worth the money when it comes to resell or trade in values, but I don't need to worry about bird drops, tree saps, light scratches and swirl marks. I can run them through a car wash if needed - though my Emira has been through a car wash yet.

Ask about the XPEL Ultimate 10mil for the forward facing surfaces like the nose, hood, fenders, mirrors, A-pillars.

A little more protection.

Also, I have heard at the STEK film has a better look, aka less orange peel in the film.

None of the films will look like a wet-sanded finish. They all introduce some sort of orange peel appearance to the finish to one degree or another.

And, I made this separate.

Google the crap out of the installer.

Why? I went with a recommendation from a friend. If you don't see them cleaning the floors between each install then run. Because you WILL have dirt/debris under the film.

This has been my experience with STEK film on my Elise and Emira. The car is noticeably more reflective and vibrant. It's hard to capture the effect in pictures, but the gloss effect in this shot is an indication.

I also had windshield film done along with 70% front / 50% side and rear windows tinted. Side note, I have departed adding film on daily vehicles due to dealer caring less about the protection.

Your picture triggers me. I can't stand that the hood can't be lifted without removing Torx bolts. I know there isn't much under there, but honestly side of the road need to check brake fluid level should NOT require tools!

If someone made a kit for a quick pull to release the hood I'd probably buy it.

Now THAT would have been a worthwhile 2026 update! It's inexcusable to have to reach over and unscrew those hold downs just to check brake fluid level.

Dealer offered Legend ppf for front bumper, full hood, mirrors for 2800. I’m tired of losing all that money on cars when I sell em. This time, paint is at the mercy of the road. I spent 4600 on my R8 full body xpel, 900 on my last 911’s half hood and got jack squat for it when sold. Not worth it anymore for me.

I normally do a front end PPF, but because I got Dark Verdant I am doing the entire car. I hear the Dark Verdant shows swirls and rick chips fairy easily, so just going to do the entire car because of that sometime in April.
