Is it true that the 2027 Emira will need a tether cord to use Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth is going to be gone due to some Chinese connectivity regulation? I can’t seem to get a definitive answer from a dealer.

I hadn't heard Lotus' position on this but I wouldn't be surprised if that is to be the case. Any wireless connectivity system that uses Chinese software can't be sold in the US starting in the 2027 model year. So yeah, seems that'd apply to the Emira and given it's a low volume car, reengineering its software platform in a different country would be cost-prohibitive (even with AI!).

That's correct. If you want wireless capability, you need to be a 2026 or earlier.

Supposedly they found an alternative source for 2028 but it both a chips and software issue so they won't be able to fix 2027 via a software update.
