So, I’m obviously in (Neil). I can do the 14th, 15th, 22nd, 28th, 29th June. 19th, 20th, 26th &27th July, are all good for me.
Happy with Milton Keynes or anywhere around there!
You should be able to achieve a finish that’s better than standard, it’s not that difficult at all. I resprayed my Evora callipers and the finish was clear and glossier that’s factory. You can also buy Lotus calliper stickers, on eBay.
I was told by Colchester that my car would be “professionally valeted” after my warranty work was completed. When I picked it up, the outside looked like it had been cleaned about a fortnight ago at best. The interior was relatively OK. However, there were swirl marks on the paint. Admittedly...
I made sure that when I got my doors sorted that the dealer gave me a detailed receipt for the work done. So I would be able to give proof if I sold the car.
If this is truly what’s happened, a broken drive shaft, then it calls into question the thesis that JUBU are claiming weak areas just to sell more parts. They also claim weak pistons, rods, valves, flywheel and clutch……….
Thanks Miamiblue. Good points. With regards to my HVAC controls, with the display on climate, when I push the buttons on the dials, nothing changes in the screen I.e. auto remains on regardless how many times I press the auto button on the HVAC controls.
My biggest beef was with Auto100 but with the short time I had the car before it went into Colchester and the amount of work and issues that needed doing and the fact that Lotus CC was copied in on every email, I would have thought that they would have been all over car to make sure it was...
A clutch change is a big job. The engine needs to come out (I know, mine’s been out 3 times!). JUBU state that the clutch and flywheel are both ‘weak’ areas. I know and accept that JUBU want to sell stuff, so advertising areas as ‘weak’ plays into their hands. However, I will say that I had the...
A further update. It seems my ‘journey’ with my Emira continues. I’ve now had the chance to clean it and drive it for a few days (it’s 11 days since I picked it up from Lotus Colchester). Unfortunately, I’ve got more faults! It’s now booked in, in 5 weeks for the following to be...
Someone should have responded. As I mentioned, the MD/CEO sets the culture. If people think they can ignore customer letters, then that’s a company issue that will eventually infect the business. Exactly what we see at Lotus. ,
My experience is that Matt Windle isn’t “a nice guy”. I’ve sent him a number of letters, due to the catalogue of issues with my car and the absolutely abysmal service from lotus customer ‘care’. He’s ignored them all. My email address was on the letters. I’m not saying he should have personally...
“Sales haven’t quite been what was forecast”. Maybe make sure you sort out basic manufacturing and design issues before launching and then have a customer care department that is a) easy to contact, b) actually cares and c) actually sorts problems out quickly? Just my thoughts……….
Not doubting this, but it seems strange that the Evora, prior to the strengthened gearbox, was available with an output of 430BHP and its replacement, with the strengthened gearbox, has 30 BHP less.
I’m trying to decide between the 3rd cat and the valve controller or should I just do both? I don’t want any droning, I’s just like to hear the V6 a bit more.
I don’t know about filtered water, but swirls are a possibility every time you touch the paintwork. So the wash before you dry is just as likely to mark the paint. Good washing practice/regime is the only way to avoid swirls.
So, finally got my Emira back from Lotus Colchester today, just 8 days short of 5 months after it went in! Only problem now is that the PPF on the roof is damaged and the dashboard centre speaker is buzzing (it wasn’t before it went in). Think I’ll drive it a while and get these new jobs done...
Car manufacturer can’t make a car that’s suitable for rain?
It’s one thing having a bad batch of items from a supplier but entirely another if you can’t sort the issue out after a number of years and when it’s costing the business 100’s of thousands of pounds.
So what was all the talk about revised doors, without a bar, with a painted rear etc.? Are we saying that 3 years in Lotus still can’t fix the issue? It doesn’t effect all cars, so surely they can work out why?
Just saw a post on the Emira Facebook page. Someone who had their doors replaced due to paint bubbling at the start of the year, has now found bubbling on the replacement doors!
