This coming Sunday, October 15, there is a "Car Festival Event" nicknamed "SPEED FESTIVAL" at Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka prefecture. It is not a particular Lotus event, and the Japan Lotus importer and distributor LCI Limited is not involved (to my knowledge). The event requires pre-registration at the following website (in Japanese). I am heading there in my BMW 335i Cabriolet (E93) (since my ordered Emira has so far not showed up ;-)
I have registered to participate in a 0 - 1500 straight run (behind a lead car) driving on the Fuji Speedway Circuit event.
Are there anyone else, Japan residents (Japanese and resident foreigners), on this Emira Forum that intend to go? Let me know so we can meet

It's raining hard in Tokyo too. Can you ask the LCI folks what preventive steps they are taking to waterproof the ECU (located below the 3 vents on the left side of the rear window) ? I think it would be an appropriate topic given the weather.

I'll be heading to Tokyo for the motor show at the end of the month. Would love to hit some good roads and soak up some car culture but haven't started planning. Do you guys know of anything happening around that time or have recommendations? It'll be this American's first time in Japan.
Darn. I will be away that period, would have loved to have an opportunity to meet up.
There are some mountains to the west and north of Tokyo. They are a fair distance from the city, and are usually full of "normal people" during the day, so you might want to plan early morning or midnight runs.
- west: roads in and around the Hakone mountains, various roads leading to Mt. Fuji
- north: the Purple Line in Mt. Tsukuba for a scenic route, Mt. Akagi or Mt. Haruna if you fancy twisty roads
- city: Metropolitan Expressway "C1" circular route (plan your route correctly, and you will only have to pay $2 for endless driving), some guy on the Internet made a Google Maps course of a scenic route through the city (make sure you de-select expressways and toll roads)
- car scene: the Daikoku parking area on the western end of the Metropolitan Expressway still attracts many car enthusiasts - you might even meet some Emira owners there

This is amazing, thank you. Too bad you'll be away! I might be sticking around for 2 weeks or so starting around the 23rd, it's all up in the air.
I did have Daikoku on my still-short list, I figure there's probably something happening there around the motor show.
How was the full wet track? Enjoyable?

Although the 0 - 1500 straight run (at full power) was cancelled due to the rain; instead we got to run 6 full laps behind a safety car and a relatively small group of participating cars. The highest speed I saw on the main straight was 145 km/h (90 mph). I was surprised we stayed out for so many laps, and yes, it was enjoyable despite the rain.
Later I saw that the demonstration Seneca blue Emira from Lotus Japan importer LCI LIMITED was among the cars used as a “ring taxi” carrying passengers that were chosen by lottery. (I did not attend this lottery.)

Sorry to mistake a dedicated Lotus/Emira event with the actual event I am thinking of joining.
The particular event I can participate in with a “non-Lotus” (I do have a red E93 335i Cabrio)
I will join a specific Emira event after my i4 FE arrives.
