Bump! Deciding between front windows at 35% (legal) or 20%, so if anyone has additional photos they’re willing to share, that would be awesome.
I did the legal California tint. My car is black/black/black. I highly recommend the ceramic clear tint for the front windshield. It makes a major difference in heat transmission. I don't know if it's a placebo effect, but it also seems to help oncoming headlight glare at night.

What tint percentage is that? It looks mean
30% the legal maximum
I think you've got it the other way around, in California 70% is the lowest visible light transmission (VLT) you can have on the front side windows, not 30%. Windshield is not allowed any tint beyond the top 4".
The front is clear (no tint) ceramic from 3M. As you said, the sides are 70% vision, so 30% tint. It looks dark because the only color inside is red stitching. On the outside, only the calipers are red. I bought the silver and black wheel rim caps and bonnet from Lotus and swapped out the chrome Lotus lettering for black. I had it all done while it was getting a full PPF. What can I say, I am shyI think you've got it the other way around, in California 70% is the lowest visible light transmission (VLT) you can have on the front side windows, not 30%. Can’t wait to see that.I did 15% tint on the side windows and 50% on the wind shield. The shop told me 15% would match the privacy glass. Car is still at the shop. Will report back when it's done.
Done. 15% on the side is still slightly lighter than the privacy glass. But pretty happy with the looks and significantly reduced the heat. Can’t wait to see that.
With your windshield at 50%... any issues with visibility at night?Done. 15% on the side is still slightly lighter than the privacy glass. But pretty happy with the looks and significantly reduced the heat.
my windshield is 50%, it feels completely normal to me no issues with night visibility at all. With your windshield at 50%... any issues with visibility at night?
What about driving WITH sunglasses? Does it affect visibility then?my windshield is 50%, it feels completely normal to me no issues with night visibility at all.
I have 50% windshield tint and when its sunny enough to need sunglasses its no issue with light. If you are wearing polarized glasses you will get a rainbow sky effect though. What about driving WITH sunglasses? Does it affect visibility then?
I ended up removing the 50% tint on the wind shield because the shop didn't do a good job keeping the specks away. But I didn't experience any issues with visibility at night or with sunglasses. Probably a bit more reflection of the dash under the sunlight. With your windshield at 50%... any issues with visibility at night?
