Cold start stalling

I had this problem pretty consistently for the first few months too. Now, and for the last ~6 months, I don't have it at all (knock on wood). I have done no software updates since delivery, and can point to no changes in driving habits. Who knows why this fixed itself, but I hope it stays that way.
I had the exact same story. Was fine, issue presented for several months, then went away, then returned.

Had my starting software updated at Brisbane Lotus last Thursday at it's year 2 service. They said the update was just released and they had only applied it to one other car at that stage. I've had the car, V6 manual, a couple of months and it failed on first start attempt every single time. 1st day after the update it almost started first time, but It's started cleanly every day since. Very happy.
Good to hear. I have my car back with no engine light on, at least on the way home!
Will find out if the cold start issue is sorted in the next couple of days, when it gets it's next drive.

Mine appears to have been resolved. Sounds like a harder / higher rpm on start now. Happy this issue/resolution has progressed
Exactly what I observed. It's not the last update, but the one before that.

Chatted with my technician yesterday and I got an update approximately 2 weeks before the latest was released, but my car is starting much "stronger" since.
Probably shipped it first, got feedback and did minor dialing in before claiming the final fix :)

Is there a way of knowing what software version you are on? I got my lotus last month at 2 yo and 5k miles on it. This week it suddenly started stalling on start.

What fuel have you been using?

After I had this with Shell I switched to BP Ultimate and have no problems since.

Whomever did your service will have a record of the software version. Revert back to normal unleaded is what I had to do until mine had the update around march this year.

No disrespect, but I’m going to nip this fuel stuff in the bud right now.

As someone who lived with this problem for more than a year and tried pretty much every fuel on the planet to solve it and nothing changed (other than what might be considered “chance”);

Get the latest software updates. Problem solved.
Perfect starting now, every time.
No matter what fuel.

Lotus dealership had my car for 3 months last October with the cold start problem, back and forth with Lotus engineers wanting data dumps from everywhere. New spark plugs and coil packs didn't solve it, but a new wiring loom and ECU did. Perhaps all the data they got enabled an update to be pushed to prevent it with others? I've only ever used Shell super unleaded.

They've now had it for another 3 weeks trying to solve armrest USBs not working after all of the above sorted. Again Lotus engineers wanting data dumps from everywhere. I beginning to believe I'm the guinea pig for solving all problems. 😂😂

Well, it did for me instantly and continuously in the UK without any software updates.

Easy to try and if it works for someone else until an official fix via software update then why not.

So I want to say that this is 100% a software issue. I have had this issue on and off for 2 years now since I took delivery of my Emira in May 2023. I am happy to say that Lotus seems to have finally solved this for the latest release.

I caveat this by saying that the dealership said that Lotus had acknowledged that it had to do with different fuel types all around the world. Hopefully the update I got will work with all fuels now.

I agree. After the software update, car runs and starts normally, no matter what fuel is used. ( Australia has crap fuel compared to UK & US)
