ZLR Door Conversion Kit

To each their own. I think it looks tacky and unbecoming of the Emira.
It does have a shade of "fakeness" to it. I think that is why you think they are tacky. But if you can get past it, I think they offer some "wow factor" or uniqueness.. assuming they work smoothly. Not particularly a fan of the two-step movement on the lambo-style doors but the ZLR style feel natural.

The company did reach back and say that the ZLR doors is off the table considering the design and engineering constraints of the Emira. The Lambo-style, however, can be done and they've already been discussing internally. Which means I'm no longer in the market for it, but if you are interested in it, they need an Emira to design the kit.

No matter what anyone’s personal opinion is of this, I applaud and appreciate you lobbying w suppliers for more options for our car. 👏 👏 🔥

While this scene is ridiculous, he is actually 1000% spot on. Such is the case with most of that show as attested to by many of my friends who live there!
I’ve lived and worked in silly valley for 25 years and a lot of it is spot on and only slightly exaggerated. I have friends who couldn’t watch it as it was too close to home. I found it hilarious and Russ “three commas” Hanneman is a brilliant character.

His key contributions were the doors scene, the three comma club and hating on revenue. What a great show.

Whenever this mod of lambo/vertical doors comes up in any car forum, its the same polarizing discussion that ensues that you can 100% predict....lol

so ugly, why even consider it?
its cool, why wouldnt I do it?
Its not a lambo, its a ___________...
I wouldnt do it...
should i trim my fender, lose part of my wheel liner and have more road noise due to wind noise???? heck yeah. ;)
LFG!
why would you ruin an already perfectly designed car??? this isnt Hot Import Nights.
Its your car, do whatever makes you happy...

As a lifelong scientist nerd of studying human behavior, Its always interesting to see how human beings cannot resist commenting for or against on this mod....lol

I think this mod is very cool and i like things in my life to be unique but I've learned on my last few cars, practicality (and evolving age related physical limitations) often trumps the coolness factor. LOL

ngl, i considered vertical doors for my 4C but i am so glad i didnt given the result the other 4C owner experienced after installation.

Carry on.... :)

I suppose It would work on some cars, just not my Emira.
I'm not a big guy and I would find it difficult to manuever around the doors.
Would also nee some wide parking spots just to get the doors open without hitting a wall or another car

from my experience with VDI, the doors loose opening distance so you wouldnt be at risk for hitting an adjacent car or wall. Thats the major part of the drawback is that you do inconveniently loose door opening distance and that lost distance is dependent on the VDI design of the bracket in relationship to the limitations of the front fender.

After the door reaches maximum opening, then you would lift door up. So unless there is an overhang, you really wouldnt be at risk of hitting anything lifting the door.

I can't do it. I'll go with the Koenigsegg Jesko instead after I successfully robbed the Louve without getting caught and hold the jewels ransom for a Jesko in Chrome Orange. What a fantastic plan with nearly a 2% chance of success! Claim insanity if caught.

All sarcasm aside, let's get a targa or sunroof (Esprit style) first. I would love a 458 hard top retractable roof, but then the horsepower needs to be boosted to at least 450 hp to compensate for the added weight of the 458-style mechanical roof.

If you need an accomplice, I'll be right behind you in my Emira 😏

There are Lambo door kits and ZLR door kits. The Lambo doors are a little clunky in how they operate. You have to open them to a predetermined spot and then lift. The ZLR conversion is much more natural. Can you guys email blast verticaldoors.com and ask for a ZLR conversion kit for the Emira. They have a Lambo conversion for the Evora so they are open to making these for Lotus cars. Here is a video of the ZLR doors.

When I called, they said they could make it but for like 5K. Yeah nor paying for their R and D
