2022 Cayman T
2024 Corvette Stingray Z51
Looking for an Emira. I loved the Cayman more than the C8. Made a mistake trading the Cayman.

Does the engine have to be behind the driver to be called a mid-engine car? Or does the engine just have to be between the front and rear axles? My friend loves to debate me on this and claims that his FWD Renault R5 aka LeCar is mid-engine because the engine is mounted entirely between the axles, like a Citroen. If so, then my E-type also qualifies since its engine is also entirely between the axles. The Emira isn't this way entirely because part of the engine overhangs the rear axle.
Nice try 😄. I think it has to be between the driver and the rear axle, otherwise just about every car I’ve owned (and driven) would be mid-engine 😊.

I’ve owned a few different mid engined cars but Still own this.. such a great little car.
I had one of those in white for years. It was a great car and I definitely regret selling it!

A few but all different

Yeah i had a thing for blue drop tops :) 488 spider and 981 Spyder. both wear different so cant really compare. The Porsche was closest to Emira - small, light, super slick 6 speed, and sound was glorious. I should have kept the Porsche. The 488 was Italian muscle, scary fast but big and chunky, very different on the track.

interesting, the 488 is similar in size and weight to the Emira ...i think it is about 6" longer though.

love the 458/488 .....couple of my dream cars.

two of some of the most beautiful F-cars ever made

miss my NSX's....too bad they are so overvalued these days.
Great cars, but what people are asking these days for a 270hp Honda's is insane ...
but the manual steering rack in the 91-93 coupes were magical experience in the twisties

The Cayman's were also very fun cars that gripped the road extremely well on the backroads, but I was never really in love with the cars.

The R8 is more of a GT and much more of an occasion to drive ...it almost drives too well with the AWD, it's kinda like cheating....the gated shifter never gets old and the kids at the gas stations like to come take pics....it was always one of my dream cars ever since I first saw it debut in Iron Man

I belive he had a Lotus in garage too.....and a Cobra and Saleen S7

how did you like the C8???
Big, heavy and drives great in a straight line. It developed an oil leak where the front end lift attached to the passenger side front shock. After 6-weeks the service department still couldn’t tell me when they could get a replacement part. I picked it up from the service department and drove it straight to the Jaguar dealer and traded it for a convertible F-type R575. The biggest problem with the C8 Corvette is that it’s still a Chevrolet.

My Emira is my first mid-engined car. Outside of test driving some other cars over the years (Boxsters, Caymans, and R8s), it is my own real experience driving a MR car.

If the Emira fell through for some reason, basically everything else I was considering was mid-engined as well. 2012-2015 Audi R8 spyder with a manual and a v10 were my most likely backup. Hated spending that kind of money for a 10+ year old car, but a gated 6 speed and a v10 were convincing me otherwise.

If my 2025 order that became a 2026 order had become a 2027 order, I'd probably be seriously searching for that R8.

Have y’all ever read the history of the Pantera? It’s an insane story about Ford trying to compete with Ferrari before they did the Shelby. It was sold through Lincoln dealerships. They just put a 351 Cleveland engine right behind your head. Literally 6 inches or maybe 8 inches between the engine and your body. No power steering. I had one about 15 years ago and though it looked absolutely beautiful, your belly button only went to the top of the car, it was totally undrivable. If you smoke a cigarette, you would hit the windshield. It had the worst problem for throttle oversteer that would make the earlyPorsche turbos drive like a Civic. You let off the gas in a hard corner and suddenly you’re looking backwards with no correctional ability whatsoever. I lived in Colorado and tried to take it out to the mountains and when I came home after driving for 2 to 3 hours, I was exhausted. But boy did it turn heads
