what other mid-engine cars have you owned???

Had a few mid engined started way back with a 1979 Lotus Esprit S2 a long long time ago then after kids onto the Toyota MR2 GTS , then a front engined BMW M6 The on to a Lamborghini Gallardo 560-4, then the Porsche 718 4.0, then a Front engined BMW M4 and now back to a Lotus the Emira 1st Edition V6 Manual. So come full circle.

Had a 2004 111R from new for 13yrs. Got totalled. Waited 7yrs looking for the next Lotus, was set on a 250 Cup, but then the Emira came along and the Wife suggested one of those instead, who was I to argue

So much overlap. I just sold my 1995 Nsx t. Currently have a 1997 f355, 2005 Elise, 1991 delta integrale and the 2025 emira. Went through five 911s in the last 4 years and a few other front engines. Mid engine bug has bitten hard.

Does the engine have to be behind the driver to be called a mid-engine car? Or does the engine just have to be between the front and rear axles? My friend loves to debate me on this and claims that his FWD Renault R5 aka LeCar is mid-engine because the engine is mounted entirely between the axles, like a Citroen. If so, then my E-type also qualifies since its engine is also entirely between the axles. The Emira isn't this way entirely because part of the engine overhangs the rear axle.

Engine has to be between the front and rear axel to be considered mid-engine. If the engine is in front of the driver, then it is front mid-engined (S2000, viper, etc.). if the engine is behind the driver than it is rear mid-engined or classically mid-engine (Emira, NSX, modern F1, etc.).

Truth be told, I might like the handling of front mid-engine more than rear mid-engine!

Drives very much like the Emira in terms of engine pull and noise, one of the main factors why I bought the Emira.

I'm in Farnborough, yes, sounds ideal.

Mann… I had not clue they were going to shoot up in value the way they did.

I got rid of it a bit early b/c maintaining them was a bit scary.

The sound of that car was literally F1 level, great memories.

I fell in love with the mid-engine with my first NSX 25 years ago and never looked back.

I have had three NSX's, two Cayman's and now a gated R8 since then

All of them are amazing cars in their own way
