What did you do to your Emira today?

I attended the Blackbushe Air Day today as part of the “Best of British” section of cars; Lotus and Morgans. I had a great day. Everyone was really interested in the Lotus and especially the two Emiras there & I spent a lot of time answering questions about mine We made many a kid’s day by allowing them to sit in the cars qfor photos – hopefully a few will become Lotus owners in 20 years or so!

There were some other very nice cars there as well as you can see. I would guess over 100 cars in total. There were probably just as many planes too including a 2-seat Spitfire giving passenger rides and a beautifully restored P51. There was also an impressive flyby of a Lancaster, they did 2 circuits over the crowds at low level.

I treated myself to a similar car meet today: the annual Alberta All British Motoring Society Field Meet. The almost constant rain resulted in less than half of the usual cars showing up (55 came). I was hoping to see another of the several rumoured Emira’s in my City, but mine was the only one. It was in good company with about 8 other Lotus. The star of the show IMO was a ground-up restoration 1938 Bentley: an absolutely gorgeous car in pristine all-original condition. Some photos below; enjoy.
