Has anyone gotten a "Your build has started" message from their dealer for a 2026? Or do you know when Lotus will start those builds?
What are the steps after submitting an order?
So that's it. No VIN number or other statuses of where the car is in the build process. BMW has a site that shows where the car is in the process of the build from beginning to end.Unless the process has changed, you’ll get no communication from Lotus and then Nova will tell you when your car is in the US.
I mean maybe they’ve gotten their act together now that things have slowed down. My experience was: place deposit, receive a couple generic emails, 2.5 years later dealer phone call to confirm order, 6 months later call from the dealer to say the car will arrive in 2 days. I think most people get a VIN from their dealer a few weeks out but I didn’t. I definitely wouldn’t expect BMW or Porsche levels of communication, which is a shame. So that's it. This is Lotus, not BMW. BMW sells millions of cars per year, Lotus is lucky if it sells 10,000. You should adjust your expectations if you’re going to own a Lotus, that’s just how it is.So that's it. ok thanks. Just trying to understand the proccessI mean maybe they’ve gotten their act together now that things have slowed down. Thanks. I have owned a Lotus before. Just not from new. So just trying to learn the process. I have no expectations at the moment. Learning as you all help explain it.This is Lotus, not BMW. Better finish cleaning your garage. It won't be long.
Yeah there was something about Galpin, one person would say there was going to be ADM, another would say no. It was also difficult to speak to the same person even via email. Didn’t feel comfortable so went with eurocar for my deposit. Zach has handled everything for me from the get go.Galpin definitely left a bad taste in my mouth early on, which I why Eurocar got my deposit and ultimately my business. But even then, they acted completely unaware of a trickle charger when I was picking my car up. Luckily this forum prepared me well, so during pickup I asked to receive the window sticker, then checked to see if this item was listed as included, and sure enough it was. After they "investigated" this, a trickle charger materialized and left with it along with the car.
And ordinarily yes, I'd agree with previous posters that it's no big deal, it's just a trickle charger, I have many and they work fine. But in this case...well here's some pics to whet your appetite. It's Lotus branded, and comes with really nice packaging and a nice case. Worth it IMO to make sure you get it at delivery (or go back to Galpin and demand what you paid for and should have received). My two, good luck with this everyone. Yes, I’ve had a VIN for many months but the whole tariff situation delayed transport. Hoping everyone with a VIN doesn’t wait more than a few weeks at this point given shipments seem to be inbound on a consistent basis.Even after receiving your VIN it could be months vs weeks before you see the car. I’ve had a VIN for nearly three months and the car isn’t even in the US yet. I think @UCLAFC has had a similar experience.
Thanks, the excitement for the car definitely helps balance out the disappointing 0-3 season start lol.Fellow bruin rooting for you! Let’s go!
Thanks, I was told orders for 2026 models go into production Oct 2025, and delivery for those would be March 2026. We will see if that happens. It would be nice if it plays out that way. Even if it's a month or 2 past March.Yes, I’ve had a VIN for many months but the whole tariff situation delayed transport.
