I know an Emira is not about top speed…

In fact it’s one of its least important numbers…. however I still like driving too fast as and when it’s suitable.

I’ve had mine is to just over 150mph (243 kmh) and it felt pretty lively - fun but lively! It was on a undulating slightly curved section of private err motorway…

What have you gotten out of yours and how did it feel?

Watching that video reminded me that the emira has drama in spades. Looks, engagement, sound.

I haven’t taken the emira very fast but I recall when I took it on track the car felt very stable on the long straights. I assume all the airflow design is actually working.

I can confirm that at high speed the Emira handled really well. Very comfortable, felt planted not light or sketchy. I was very confident at that speed.

Of course the Kiwis do their speed runs next to a massive tree line. I would be scared of wildlife coming out.

Oh it’s no problem when the odd possum or pukeko (bird) wonders on to the road when you’re ripping along close to 200 mph. You just steer around them!

My kids went to a playground that had a platform 8’ off the ground with no railing. The kiwis have a different relationship with risk than the rest of us. They also view liability differently, which is kind of refreshing. You know when something is dangerous. Take responsibility and piss off. I kind of like it.

Hahaha, good one, Jiba ittai. The names are all of famous Kiwi world f1 and similar car racing world champions from yesterday year and some current well regarded drivers. One name that might ring a bell is that of Bruce McLaren racing champion and starter of the McLaren sports and race cars. You have probably driven behind a McLaren on the streets. Even with our posket rockets, McLarens are difficult to keep up with let alone pass.

You do realise that it was the Kiwis that came up with Bungy Jumping and also Jet boats ?
As you say, their opinion is, you know the risk, own it

If you are new to Lotus then chances are you are holding on to the steering wheel too tightly and when you do the car fights you back and feels way more nervous than it will do with a lighter grip.

Saw an indicated 290km'h on the autobahn last week, south of Munich heading to Austria. I got overtaken by a Huracan that managed 330 km/h. We had a long clear run with light traffic. That was defo Emira vmax.
