Had car in for service today for two software updates. It seems to me like the KEF stereo sounds significantly better. Unless I am imaging it. The speaker in the dash is finally noticeable. Imaging seems improved and higher in the cabin. Anyone else experience this?

I was away from my car for a little over a month as the dealer kept it for some warranty work, and since it's been so long, my memory of what it used to sound like is petty unreliable.

But just to chime in anyway, driving it home from the dealer and listening again, it still felt lackluster like it usually does for me, yet I also noticed the sound is more present in the center front position, whereas in the past it felt more like I was hearing more separation and emphasis on the L and R channels.

It could all just be placebo effect and the particular tracks I was listening to. 😅

Interesting. I always thought the front centre dash speaker was too dominant, and I wish there was a way to increase the volume in the door speakers (with some sort of fader control). Sometimes the centre front speaker will 'buzz' if music hits certain resonant frequencies.

I don't know which software version I have. But the car was last in the dealer around February 2025. So nothing newer than available from that date.
I have a V6 FE.

I just had my Emira in for warranty “software updates”. One took several hours and the other was the most recent update, which was quick. I asked the tech what they did and was told everything related to improving security, to make the systems less hackable. He said the car software is inter-related so changing one area required others to be changed too; hence the lengthy update. He also said most vehicle manufacturers were doing similar updates, as hackers get more sophisticated and vulnerabilities are identified.

I’ve since noticed no change with my KEF however I’d already modified it by adding the 2 Alpine tweeters, the 10” Kicker sub-woofer and sound insulation.
