When looking at the shift linkage on the Emira it looked exactly like the linkage on my GR Corolla. So I bit the bullet and got the Forge Motorsport short shift kit . It arrived today and I was able to install it with one hand, in about 15 minutes. Only removed the trim piece closest to the trunk. Nothing else. Here is a link to the item:

It's adjustable, I set it to the middle position. Nice short, firm shifts and only $85.

Do you have any before and after videos for comparison?

Did you try different positions for the setting before deciding you liked the middle setting best?

On my Corolla, yes. Shortest setting was too much, shifting was a little strained. Longest setting was also nice and short, but the middle was the sweet spot.

Thanks for sharing this. As I've started to drive it a bit harder after completing the break-in miles, I've found that shifting into 2nd when revving out 1st almost to redline can be a bit slow/clunky. This was described in some YouTube videos, especially the Hagerty drag race video where they specifically call out the grindy/slow transition into 2nd on the Aisin tranny.

All that being said, have you tested this or noticed that this helps you shift more smoothly, in particular, from 1st > 2nd?

Thanks again!

I've only done 110 miles so far so cannot tell. Since the shift is now faster, I would not say that it is smoother. But in practicing heel-toe downshifts it is definitely easier to rev match and release the clutch sooner .

Good to know, and thanks for the heads up and future video or DIY instructions if available. I ordered a kit myself yesterday.

Instructions would be pretty much the same as for the Corolla. Instead of removing the air box, you unclip the trim piece closest to the trunk. Then simply reach through the pipes. Easier when the car is cold.

No problem with you guys providing details on your product as we all appreciate options and welcome your support of the Lotus community, but I do feel your reply is out of place and honestly hijacks the OPs original post and intent. Maybe a separate post?

I can vouch for the insanely high physical build quality of Forge Motorsport products. I was a dealer for them almost 20 years ago when I managed an automotive performance company, and we literally never had a single problem with any product from Forge that we ever installed on a customer vehicle. Excellent stuff built by picky engineers.
