Anyone know the part # or where i can find a replacement part for the U clips that holds the rear diffusser panel right behind the rear wheels? Tried buying some from Amazon, but none seems to fit.

Thanks for the help

I had the same thing happen when I did mine and almost just threw them away but found out where they go. If you look at @itsnightime s attached photo in the first post, there is a small notch in the bottom of the rear wheel well behind the tire where the diffusser meets the lower body panel. The clip fits in there to clip the diffusser and lower lip body panel together. I hope this explanation makes sense,

Are you sure they were even there to begin with? My new i4 didn't have them. We were very careful when we removed the diffuser for my exhaust install and the clips were not installed.

They are unnecessary. Just put them in a baggie and store it away along with the front license plate bracket, so that 30 years from now, you can sell the car "original and complete".

The clips and the plastic plugs at the end of the diffuser behind the rear tires. So much of the car is so well engineered. Other things just seem like such an afterthought. This was in the last section of the diffuser. They used some hot melt type glue to hold the closely fitting plug in and all it does is trap road debris.

Yea, that's pretty common. Oil changes are a good time to shake out the dirt and pebbles that collect in the aluminum under tray and rear diffuser. It is what it is.

I did slightly enlarge the drip holes on the two outside diffuser ribs so that larger stones can fall through. Might be a worthwhile thing to do.
