For people of a certain age the black and gold JPS livery is a defining early memory of Lotus cars.

Classic Team Lotus is out testing 77/1, 78/2 and 91/8 on the Lotus Cars test track at Hethel in readiness for Monaco. Here are the cars looking fabulous outside the workshop, on a beautiful Spring day.

Kevin Weeda has come to Hethel to get a few more miles in 77/1 before the big weekend. Chris Dinnage will test 78/2 and 91/8 for Lee Mowle and Dan Collins. All this is so that we know the cars will be on the button when they get in the cars for Friday practice at Monaco.

Superb! These will look, and sound, absolutely fabulous on track.

Any of these likely to make an appearance at Silverstone Classic (The Classic) in August?

Oh man that is gorgeous. That livery has to be one of, if not THE all-time best looking color scheme on any car of any class ever.

Yes, it’s listed in the CTL racing calendar

Excellent, thanks. (y)

Looks like Lotus' F1 cars are scheduled to run on the Sunday. I wonder which car(s) will be sent sent to The Classic. I hope the 91/8 is amongst them.

"All those F1 icons together with Benettons, Lotuses, Jordans, Tyrrells are expected to be part of these not-to-be-missed track demos, which are being organised by the recently launched Ignition GP."

LOL, is that Penthouse magazine sponsorship? It really was a different time.
