Hi, I’m finally picking up my car after over a year of waiting. The dealership offered PFF for full hood, bumpers and headlines for $4500 in San Francisco Bay Area. I believe this is too expensive based on my quick research. But I’d like to hear from the community here to see how much you paid.
Is it okay to drive the car home and do the PFF a few days later at an independent car shop? I’m not planning to daily drive the car.
Thanks!

Your dealership is most likely sub-contracting the job. I paid about the same for the entire car, minus the roof because of the suction mounts. Also, some (most?) installers will use pre-cut kits. I’m not a fan of the ones I’ve seen, but the Emira is a very challenging car to work on, especially the rear-quarter panels/doors.

That sounds high to me. It's absolutely no problem to drive the car home and around a bit before doing the PPF, just obviously avoid freeways if possible and leave a larger than normal following distance to any other vehicles. I can't give any suggestions in the bay area, but do some research on local shops (Yelp/Google reviews), then talk with a few of them directly before deciding. Better yet, stop by the shops of the most promising places to talk with them in person and see their work. Beyond that, if you ask 100 people for advice on what to do (how much film coverage, STEK/XPEL/3M/other, matte or gloss, add ceramic or not, and so on), you'll get 100 different answers. What I can tell you is that I got more coverage than what you were quoted (but not the whole car), with a single stage prep/correction polish, ceramic coating (including wheels), from a shop that had done about 30 or so Emiras previously and was very familiar with them, in SoCal, for less than what you were quoted.
