Now more people are taking delivery of their cars, it's time to start a thread about the reactions you get from other people.

My experience of 25 years of Lotus ownership is almost everyone reacts positively to our rare and interesting cars. It's common for people to let you out of side junctions (something Porsche and BMW drivers may not experience so much) and for people to slow down or speed up to get behind or alongside for a closer look. You'll get waves and thumbs up, and shouts of "nice car mate" and lots of photos being taken.

Parking up, you'll find random strangers approach you to talk about the car, say how beautiful or loud it is, ask about price and performance or reminisce about the old Lotus they owned or rode in.

There are sometimes more unusual stories, like the Evora owner who had a marriage proposal while filling up with fuel, or the Elise owner who was waiting at a pedestrian crossing and was flashed by two young ladies showing their lack of underwear while walking across.

Sometimes there are the more negative encounters, like the coffee bean shake or people in other cars trying to race you. But these are generally rare and hey, we're more interested in positive stories on here right? Over on another forum, the equivalent Evora thread has 52 pages of stories. I'm sure we'll easily beat that!

I think a current EMIRA owner needs to connect a gopro inside his/her car and park it somewhere with a bit of quality traffic, ALDI (yes I do go there!) and record the reactions...... I would SOOOO do that!

Folks, this thread is intended for stories from Emira owners about people’s reactions. Keep it on topic please or take it into the Hethel Arms.

Not really a story to tell yet from mine, but from the journey home I got a few "thumbs up" gestures from f-type and Porsche owners, quite a few rubber necks and a typical douche in an audi TT trying to assert what little manliness they have in a hairdressers car by driving up my a$$

I came across numerous cyclists on a run out last weekend despite the horrible weather - for anyone interested the car has a reasonable wade depth - and while stuck in a queue at a junction, a particularly large group of them came from the opposite direction. As they approached, one chap suddenly broke from the middle of the pack and cycled straight at me, shouting and waving his fist. With nowhere to go, I was a little panicked at what might happen next until I realised he had his thumb up and was saying something along the lines of 'awesome car'.

Back in November when I'd not long had the car I was at the shops and noticed a couple of kids looking at the car as I got back to it. By the time I was leaving the carpark they'd taken out their phones and were videoing it, so I popped it into track mode and accelerated away a little harder! Can't wait to get it out again, hopefully soon...

First time parking up outside of my house yesterday and a very excited 3 year old in a Spiderman costume came running over shouting BUMBLEBEE BUMBLEBEE! Made my day after having 2 people shout twat at me in town :ROFLMAO: It looks phenomenal in person and everyone I have shown has lost their s*** when they've seen it. Everyone has guessed £140k. Driving through Farnham high street someone literally stopped half way crossing the road in front of me and took a good long look then proceeded to keep looking back, these cars stand out be warned (it's a bit much tbh, never had this before)

I had quite a lot of negative reaction from Emiraphiles when then say I had stealth PPFd my red Emira! :D

Wait until they hear the new exhaust system.🫢

Car reaction has only been positive apart from that. Lots of quizzical looks at nobody knows what it is. I am pretty sure I would not even know what it was if an Emira was coming straight towards me.

Went to JD Classics on Saturday after collecting mine on Friday afternoon with SELOC lotus club a good number of various Lotus came including another Emira in DV (y)
On arrival the folk from JD invited us into the premises have car cleaned and put on display with large number of very high value Classics.
Generated lots of interest and pictures. I’ve taken the liberty of copying a couple of pictures by S2John from the Seloc site
Apparently they do regular open days it’s well worth a visit

That's a nice collection, and your Emira fits in quite nicely.
