New Everyday Driver video - 1 year of ownership, and v6 compared to i4

Amazingly good and free PR for Lotus and especially the Emira. These guys should be invited for a free track day at Hethel. Great video! Thanks for posting it ADC.

Damning with faint praise for the i4. They were as "nice" as they could be but clearly both guys are not fans of the 4 pot turbo

Amazing video. I am a long time patreon supporter. Thanks everyday driver to answer my questions in podcast in the past.

The mechanic LSD and full hydraulic steering are key features, but not many average drivers can feel the differences. When I test drive, I didn’t notice LSD differences. I probably didn’t put the cars hard enough given they weren’t my cars.

Yeah i4 gives everything from start. It was a fair statement saying 70% pressing pedal and 100% have little diff. i4 is excellent. Cayman like, but better than caymen S.

Very good video, they brought out some key differences that go beyond just the engine choice. They make a lot of sense. Only thing I can think that would make it better would have been if they were both on the same suspension setup.

v6 and i4 at your disposal and you don't line them up? I'm not buying it. It's my read they liked the i4 more than expected BUT will lean towards their own book. Always love their perspective but the conflict pops for me.

I don't think I've ever seen them drag race anything now that you mention it

Confirms my driving impressions. I own an I-4, and I said from the outset the steering feel is different. The dealer said that can’t be true, that they have the same steering!?!? I think I prefer the V-6 feel, but I would have to drive again to confirm. My impression is that the I-4 is twitchy and less relaxed. The I-4 is more suited for the track and the V-6 is more relaxed for touring. However, the I-4 is much quieter in cruise mode and gets much better mileage (32-43mpg at steady 60 mph). It is a mixed bag, but I do miss the steering feel.

the V6 is using a traditional hydraulic pump driven, the I4 is electro-hydraulic and the unit is actually in the front of the car and is much more assisted than the V6 version

They were always going to lean towards the V6. They emphasize driver engagement and were manually shifting the DCT and revving it out. That's fun but not the fastest way to drive it, unlike the V6.

I4/V6 both have 5-60 of around 4.5 seconds and it's doubtful these guys went over 70 mph. The I4 is quicker, but with their driving patterns, the I4 wouldn't have been noticeably faster while cruising in the canyons @ 7/10. All they said was "similarly quick", yet that's probably fair given the usage.
