Lotus on the Dragon 2026

I live here, year round and am very familiar with the weather patterns, forecasts etc. Yes, the forecast is not great, but even as good as meteorology is, it’s far from super accurate quite often. I’d certainly plan on some rain but nothing prolonged or extreme with plenty of good driving to do regardless. Wish my car was here for this event!!
PS if anyone wants info regarding extra drives , areas to explore before or after especially around the Blue Ridge GA area DM me and I’ll give you some great drives for a couple of hours etc.

The whole area is a mountain range with converging air streams, so the weather can be super variable.

I’ve had worse forecasts that netted full days of gorgeous driving weather…(especially if you have some local knowledge that can help you avoid the green blobs)

On another note, i just called the hotel (Fontana Resort) and they are charging for the FULL amount of the stay if you cancel the stay. This is RIDICULOUS! I get a one night charge but certainly not he whole 3 day stay.
Hang in there.

In this area the weather changes rapidly. It’s still a week out. It’s high percentage we will see rain at some point in the day, but hour by hour, it’s not so high.

I’m sure it will be a great time with some scattered weather. I hear you on the drive and risk though.

My apologies to everyone if there is rain for the event. I booked a camping trip that weekend, though we did decide to stay in Uwharrie vs up in the mountains. But it never fails that for my first camping trip of the year with a specific friend, it’s always going to rain. So yea, don’t blame the meteorologist, just blame me. Sorry about that.

I know the feeling! I always have the worst luck in that regard.

Sadly, I have decided not to attend due to weather risk. Would have to start the 8hr trip early Thursday morning in the rain as well, not fun!
Was looking forward to meeting everyone especially my Emira aftermarket drug dealer, Greg@GRP. Will have to eat the $350 for the hotel room but oh well.

Ive driven Dragon in the rain and the Skyway while flurrying in the 4C and it was miserable. I'm sad.
Hopefully next month's Road Rally in the Hocking Hills with Shinoo@Inokinetic will have ideal weather.

Please take lots of pics for me.

Unfortunately I’m likely going to do the same. I’ve got a 12 Hour Dr. coming from Louisiana so that’s a long way to sit in the room watching it rain. Real bummer

Looking forward to getting up there! Hopefully, we will hit the road tonight to cut tomorrow's drive in half.

Great youtube review with the spouse on the Tilletts!
Thanks! I hope it’s helpful for someone to have another opinion. She’s still fearful of the camera and says what comes to mind haha (I suppose it makes it more genuine. She was also very anti doing it to begin with.)

After being around all the cars/people this weekend and driving some fast roads, she’s learned a lot and wants to redo it. 😂
