Just wondering based on what we know today, what is the best exhaust upgrade set up for a V6 Manual. I have read some good posts but curious now that we are two years+ into Emiras, if there is any updated thoughts on what is now best in 2026?

Thank You.

My two pence: start with a 3rd cat delete pipe from GRP or Milltek, and see what your think. IMO, the best money you can spend (well, that and a short-shift kit).

That will get you a properly epic sound. Next step after that is a Milltek valve controller, if you want it to be loud all the time (not just above 3500 RPM).

Titanium backboxes and such if you want to chase weight saving (and slightly brassier exhaust note). If you are properly insane / antisocial, full header replacement replacing primary cats with single cat where 3rd cat goes, relocating lambda sensors, but be ready for check engine lights and/or tuning to make that work.

I agree with ADC. Just swapped in a Milltek pipe and valve controller last week, and to me the sound/volume are both perfect. Factory backbox isn't all the heavy either.

I would do valve controller first and then third cat delete. The valve controller makes more of a difference.

Wow, great advice. I will do the 3rd cat delete and valve controller for now. And see how it goes. Thank you so much.

I’m not antisocial, just want those Porsches to get out of my way on track cuz I mean business!

I went with the 3rd cat and love it. The stock valve open above ~3500 rpm even in touring mode so you can hoon it a bit through tunnels and it's glorious. It's the only mod I made and I'm sticking with it...I daily drive it though, so like it quiet when I want it quiet.

I'm currently running GRP catless headers, 3rd cat in place, and a valvetronic titanium muffler with Milltek valve - I love it. Yes it's loud, truth be told I have no idea how loud though as I'm always the one driving it. It screams above 4k, per my very scientific tunnel tests.

I do have a CEL for oxygen sensor slow response on both banks, not cat efficiency codes, so I'm simply dealing with it for the time being. I am putting together an approach I *think* will remedy the problem - If it does I'll put together a post for the community

I vote Ti. My friends have the SS exhausts and 3rd cat delete + valve controller, etc. but Ti has a unique pitch/tone. Previous owner paid like $8k for mine, so not sure if I would do it myself but if you are after the exotic tone I would reccomend Ti. Otherwise 3rd cat delete and MVC will get you 90% there.
