Lots of minor issues but software updates scare me

No sir was worried about that too. You get the rising redline from cold to warm feature tho!
Rising redline from cold to warm? My car has this already straight from the factory. Or am I missing something?

My redline has always done that, haven’t had it in for any updates since I picked it up in Sept ‘24

Right there with you.. Mine starts out around 5,000 when cold at like 112F and as the temp goes up the redline increases as well.

Oh I thought someone mentioned it was an update along the way sorry.

I have no idea why lotus is still approving shifter cable replacements for that. They are very aware that doesn’t fix it. However, the act of replacing the cables may change the characteristic of the sound since installing new cables will have slightly different tensions/adjustments. Ie, you may not hear it in 5th or 6th anymore, but might hear it in 4th. Or, it’ll be the same as before, or slightly less loud. But it’ll still be there. They could just adjust the existing cables to try and make it less noticeable. Your existing cables aren’t faulty- they are just replacing near new cables with new cables lol
Yeah I just got the car back. My service advisor told me that it is not a guaranteed fix. Now the ticking noise behaves differently but overall got even worse through the gears. o_OMy service advisor also told me that this noise is common in manual Evoras and Emiras and is noted as regular operational noise by Lotus.

Am I being too worried? Thoughts?

You are being too worried. Now seriously, let me feed into your paranoia. An update to the auto V6 cars changed the shift logic in track mode that made owners unhappy, so your question is not unprecedented. But mostly, do your updates you'll be fine. You do carry an OBDII scanner in the car I assume? Always handy to just see what it is that pops up, which is common in any sportscar especially our Emiras which I find to be quite sensitive to...anything. I have a sticker over my check engine light right now and my life is way better lol.

i DO not have an ODBII Scanner.. although I need to get one. I was searching to try and find one that fully works on our cars. Happy to hear your thoughts.. or maybe just some yellow painters tape over the light works wonders.

Don't buy any fancy shit, it won't help you in any way. No scanner has the Lotus specific PIDs mapped, so they won't report anything other than the next best basic OBDII scanner out there

This works fine for iOS, Android, Macs and is compatible with any App supporting ELM based scanners

App I use

Thanks to you and @Bimmernate for reporting this. I have a slight rattle noise in 3rd and 4th gear which doesn't bother me THAT much (especially since installing the Milltek valve controller which masks a lot of the rattle noise). I was considering taking it in, but worried any "fix" or replacement may make it worse than what it is now.

Curious if anyone else has had this addressed at the dealer which actually resulted in fixing this issue?

There is another thread about this issue. While somebody reported a fix, I don't think there is a definite solution from Lotus dealer yet.
Do you notice a ticking noise during acceleration?

There’s no fix, it’s a characteristic of the transmission where the noises resonate through the cables. I believe some cars have the noise more pronounced than others based off of the tension in the cables themselves. I went down a long path in trying to fix it in my 24 emira, literally tried everything. I got it to go away for a little while but it eventually came back as the cable tensions slightly change over time. My 26 emira also has it.

Wow. Guess I won't attempt to fix this anymore

Good to know. I have been delaying/hesitating to take mine to Galpin for its updates.

Have you tried a window reset?
From the owner's handbook (page 159) (after reconnecting the battery):

Resetting Automatic Drop/Raise/
Pinch Protection
– Fully raise each window, once raised,
hold the switch for 2 seconds until a
click is heard.
– Then fully lower each window,
once lowered, hold the switch for 2
seconds until a click is heard.
I tried the window reset and nothing happened. Wondering if there is something else to it.

My dealership is not sure they can get me a loaner now, so I might not be able to drop it off.. it's 3+ hours away from me.. but there are about 28 items on my list of things needing attention.

Has your dealerships offered a loaner or how do you get the car and from your dealership when it's far way?
Galpin got me a Lyft. Honestly better than a loaner since I could only have a loaner for a few days and I have other cars. Maybe ask about it.

Dealership is 3+ hours away.. I got it sorted though.. Lotus agreed to cover the expense of trailoring it to the dealership on a flat bed

My car had clicking noise under load, louder with harder acceleration. It was hard putting it in first gear as well. Just like you, I was hesitant to have it fixed. I brought it to Naples (3 hours away) for the first 1000 mile oil change and mentioned the problems. Three weeks later, I picked up the car. It's now perfect. It's a 2025 and it still received software update which did not cause any problem. They did offer a free one-way trailer service which i declined. I want to minimize people getting in my car. No loaner car. There is a good sushi restaurant in the area though which I used as a bribe to have my poor wife drive me to the dealer.

I discussed the shifter "whistle" when accelerating issue with the GLI (Glenview Luxury Imports) master Lotus tech and he concurs that replacing the cable is far from a certain solution. He stated that if you push Lotus they will cover the replacement cable, but to keep expectations of the noise going 100% away very low.

FWIW, some cars have the noise worse than others, so if it's over the top for you it could be worth replacing or at the very least tightening/adjusting.
