LA service price is too high

I went to A1 automotive in San Gabriel and had a good experience. Harry is a lotus guy and does a lot of work in evoras. They are not a lotus specialist shop but he is as an Elise owner himself.

What were the bad reviews about lotus oc? I went to get warranty check on minor questions and they said “they all do that sir”.
Exactly.

Harry is a great resource, worked on many of my cars (Evora, Alfa 4c, Carrera T). He hasn't worked on the Emira yet, but that's only because I always use my dealer (Lotus of SD) for the first couple of years to ensure I have a good rapport with them. Also, my i4 seems to always have software updates. SO, I always try to stay up on that as well.

He did the run in oil change, filter swap and 3rd car delete for my emira. So he’s worked on at least one!

@T6061 I am curious as to your personal experience with the scheduling, completeness of work, cleanliness of the car when picked up including what was left under the engine under tray (which you won't know unless you look at it afterwards and remove it), etc. I personally, did not get the warm and fuzzies when I went to check the service bay out. So, I've been making the hike to SD. I'm in OC. So, SD was the next best thing vs. going all the way across LA traffic to Galpin (which I have heard is pretty good).
I had no issues at all. I didn't remove the under tray so can't speak to that but they completed the water diverter TSB, changed the oil and loaded the latest software. Car was ready when they said it would be. No real complaints about the service.

I found a shop in Huntington Beach I am going to try, they only work on higher end stuff. If they can do Lambo's, Ferrari's, etc. I think they can handle an Emira, and at more than half the quoted prices from dealers. I have no lights or issues with my car so why push updates that could do the opposite., of course if warranty work is needed it will go to one.

Just watched a video of a shop that charges $500 for an Aventador, 6 drain plugs, remove 2 cross members, a skid plate and 12qt of oil. An Emira, with a Rav4 V6 motor, hell no.
