I recently hit the 1,000 mile mark on my car, so I installed a Milltek valve controller (gen 1). After the car warmed up, the check engine light illuminated, and a later diagnostic revealed codes P13C2, P246B, and P1439. After a couple days in the garage I cleared the codes and went for another drive, and again, as soon as it warmed up, same check engine light and same codes. The valve controller seems to be working as I hear some slight change when changing modes (really subtle though). A search here didn't yield anything useful, just references to possibly calibrating the valve when changing and exhaust (which I didn't touch). Looking up these codes online isn't helping, all I get is that P246B indicates a problem with my diesel(!) particulate filter.

Before I tear it all apart again to try to debug this, does anyone have experience with a similar problem and any tips?

I would call where you purchased controller from...

No one should be buying version 1 unless you heat wrap the wires by the valve controller because heat causes codes and damage to harness.
Version 2 solves this issue be relocating the system so heat doesn't affect it. My car is in the shop due to valve controller and oxygen sensor issues which has put car into limp mode. Version 2 will be installed and hopefully my problems will be solved. I will be tracking Lime Rock on 7/28 and will hopefully have good news that there are no more issues.

The last batch of the Miltek controllers have new programming that will triggers CEL. Get an exchange from the vendor you brought it from. We had the same problem last month and once we get the replacements there are no problems.

Agree, version 2 plus valve motor relocation is the way to go.

I considered the v2, but the number of wires in that harness concerned me...each of those crimps is a new failure mode being introduced to that harness and I didn't know what a break in the other wires' connections would result in. At least with v1, any failure is limited to the operation of the valve and is not a serious issue.

Thanks, I'll reach out to them!
