My Specs:
Emira V6
Just curious what everyone is doing for fun in their lotus.

For me, I’ve been more willing to drive to nearby viewpoints just to enjoy a coffee with a view, late night cruising around town, some backroads fun, a few day trips planned.

Take the long way to work on occasion to get it up to redline. Drive it up in the Rocky Mountains. Won't happen this year now that winter is approaching, but next summer I will take it on some sort of road trip. Had my old S2000 up in the Canadian Rockies many years ago, would be nice to get the Emira up there as well.

Mid week blasts around the Peak District in Derbyshire. 2 week tour this year around Bavaria (Southern Germany) and strangely enough I actually enjoy cleaning it !!!!!!!

Sometimes I’ll point off in a direction and explore the country back roads in the area (I’m in the Charlotte NC area, it can quickly change from urban to farms and livestock).

Sometimes I’ll do a nice drive up to the top of Morrow Mountain, grab a snack and enjoy the view. And enjoy the random folks oogling over the Lotus.

My preference though is a full day or weekend to make it up to the mountains and explore the roads there. As many as I have driven and I still find new ones. Looking forward for the Blue Ridge Parkway to fully reopen, same with NC-80/The Devils Whip.

On those roads I’ll drive for a while, take a break. I keep a lightweight hiking chair in the trunk, and I usually will bring a small cooler that fits behind the seats. Enjoy the break to stretch the legs then sit and drink/snack a little. While I make good time, I’m not trying to get somewhere particularly fast and just enjoying the journey (and the grip).

I work from home, so I don’t get to occasionally take the long way to work. But I’ll meet friends for lunch and show her off as well.

Great idea to bring along a hiking chair. Been meaning to pull up to the side of the river, whip out a lawn chair or something reclinable and just enjoy the nature.

It’s funny, I didn’t really think about how I was going to use the car prior to buying it. Turns out 80% of my travel is work related and I don’t want my staff or customers seeing my car. Once or twice a week I take it out by myself and haul ass through farming country on the paved side roads surrounding my town. Usually about a 40 min loop, very cathartic. Also, because I don’t want this to be an entirely selfish purchase, once a week I rotate through taking my 3 kids on a cruise out to get ice cream or milkshakes. Every couple months I’ll take it on a 4-6 hr round trip tour to visit with family. That’s about it. At some point I’m going to try and organize a trip to the tail of the dragon with friends.
