High-Pitched whining noise steering

Noise is really boring, not normal for a premium car. If lotus dont solve it, i am thinking to install another similar pump…

I’ve still to speak to the dealer, will do that first thing tomorrow.

I’ve also noticed it is particularly loud outside. The noise appears to be coming from the lower front of the bonnet.
Yep. Hear it outside too, louder than inside. I'm at about 800 miles in. 200 more miles and I'm going to get it fixed.

My Emira was in service for 1.5 months waiting for a replacement steering pump from UK. They replaced it and the noise is NOT gone.

Now the service rep tells me Lotus claims it characteristic of the car and that multiple other cars on the lot have the same sound.

If anyone knows of a way to fix it, I’ll be thankful.

Anyone successfully get this remedied? My dealership is sayings it’s normal. The slightest touch to the steering wheel produces the sound jp1 has in their video

Don't know if this helps. The only time I didn't have the sound show up was at Yosemite Glacier Point. I don't know if it was the altitude, or the winding roads.

I'm trying to live with it, but it is irritating in what is otherwise usually an amazing drive.

I noticed it’s not quite as loud when I’ve ran the engine hard but it’s still always present.

I have that same sound too, but I have to admit it doesn't bother me at all. It actually sounds like "special" to me. I'll ask the dealer about it, but they have serviced it many times now and never noticed anything wrong.
