GRP Customized Emira Steering Wheels!

How's the grey TDC marker and stitching holding up for you?

I'm interested in a very similar wheel, but concerned about the grey getting dirty looking.
6000 miles in and still looks new. I'm sure as time goes on it may get a little dirty, but I try to wash my hands before driving to minimize oils getting into the fabric. I also have Sonax Alcantara cleaner that I'll use 1-2x per year to keep it feeling soft and fresh.

Do you have any issues with clearance with your legs when driving/entering/exiting the vehicle? Considering swapping to a fully round wheel as well
It's only maybe 10-12mm lower than the OEM wheel and I'm not super tall, so it hasn't been noticeable to me if that helps. I've enjoyed the round wheel a lot.

Here's my wheel from GRP. Really looks nice.

Now all I need are the buttons. And, uh, the car.

How does the fully round wheel or round top/flat bottom wheel compare to stock, in terms of gauge cluster visibility?

Visibility for upper end of gauge cluster is not that great with oem steering wheel. I'd consider either the fully round or round top/flat bottom option if it either keeps visibility same or improves it.

Can't quite tell for certain since its not a comparison between the two. It does seem like the round portion at the top frees up more space/gives more visibility on the rpm gauge - is this correct?

Correct 👍

Just installed my steering wheel and press buttons from GRP. Really love the all round steering feeling, everything feels more natural, and turning even feels easier, totally worth it!

Was debating between the flat bottom vs all round, and ended up going with all round as I like to have the wheel slide on my hand.

Have they had the buttons back in stock recently. They seem to have been unavailable whenever I’ve checked over the last 12 months.

They had a restock in June, and ran out within a day or two. You should put your email down for "notify me when in stock", I received an email when it came back in stock.

These are essentially Lynk & Co buttons, so GRP gets new stock once a while, much better than trying to source used ones from aliexpress.

Btw, the new Emira 420 is using these press button now, I guess Lotus heard enough complains 😂

Love the wheel. That’s pretty much exactly how I’d spec one.

Question re the buttons (which I’m also very tempted to do).
I assume that with buttons you lose one or two things in terms of functionality compared to the haptics?
For example, sliding your thumb down from top to bottom of the volume to mute?

They’re buttons that click. So none of the slide actions work. But everything can be done, just by clicking, you don’t lose any functionality in that respect.

@GRP will the new 420sport steering wheel be produced/available soon?

I might do that, but I’d also like a round top and traditionally upholstered wheel at the same time. Unfortunately I told Mrs P who informed me in no uncertain terms that I wasn’t to be spending £1k plus on a new steering wheel 🤣.
Wonder how long it’ll take before she forgets 😉.

Point out the number of shoes she buys 😂

Now that I have the round steering wheel, I feel I should've done this on day 1. Really changes how I driver the car.

Its the same wheel with different upholstery I believe based on the pictures.
We can do the same on our custom wheels but there may be a extra charge for the time involved.
